    Re: The BTB Discussion Thread

    So I've got a plan for a BTB that I'm just GIDDY about! But, I'm somewhat confused on how I should go about it. What's a solid way to check an era's roster? The one I have in mind is set in the summer of 2007. Should I be aware of the storytelling happening leading up to that time frame? ROH: Decade of Honor (my first attempt at a thread) was pretty much a reboot for the year 2020.

    I can see the argument for why you'd avoid CV in threads as it's obviously shitty as hell, but I'd be kinda interested to see someone tackle it. How someone books a company in the most ridiculous of limitations would be really different and interesting. I mean, really, the WWE should just fucking stop producing shows because who gives a shit about what they're putting out right now, and they should just let their wrestlers be safe and with their families on full pay, but that's not the point I guess.

    Hey, I'm one of the four! Really pumped for this, hope you're coming back with the old project, that thing was gold.

    Amazing! Always great when an idea really gives you a buzz. Personally, I always want to see people continue with the angles that were already running. Not a fan of the hard reset, tbh. I'd recommend watching a few shows in the build up, or at least reading about what was going on at the time. If it's WWE in 2007 I'm sure you could find a pretty accurate wrestler by Googling, but with other companies it can be a little bit more challenging. Just looking at shows around that era should give you a rough idea of who was on the roster.

    This thread might be of use to you just to get your ideas out there without having to start a thread;

    I have a really interesting idea for a diary amidst this whole COVID-19 stuff, just 2 more weeks of school/exams and I can commit to it. I don't know if it'll garner a positive or negative reaction and it won't be apparent immediately, but I'm looking forward to giving it a shot.

    I've been having issues with that too, even just sending people stuff for feedback, I was just like "Aw yeah, need to format this" & took like 40 minutes for one match

    I usually write my code into my work as I write it. Saves so much effort.

    Has anyone ever toyed with the idea of having some sort of injury simulator? Something I thought of recently. I think itd be interesting to see how I or anyone would pick around that sort of unpredictability

    Yeah pretty sure it's been done a few times, in various 'btb" projects.

    I think OMB used it recently and his new champion at the time - Drew McIntyre got 'injured' and was selected which meant he had to really get creative and plan around it. In that sense, I think it can work really well because it definitely adds some unpredictability.

    Been toying with the idea of using it for my All Elite Wrestling 'btb' but is it an app? Do I just search it in Google? Not even sure lol.

    Yeah that's what I'm curious about too is how you would put some sort of algorithm together, based on how many injuries you would have per year, the length of the injury, etc. I'll have to look for it here and see how others have done it

    I've added this post Summerslam for my roster, with varying reasons for what happens to them. i.e injury, wellness policy etc

    I know Roy Mustang uses (I think) EWR in order to throw him curveballs like injuries.

    Yeah it is EWR I use to simulate injuries and stuff. It feels a lot more challenging to have curve-balls come up every now and again.

    Like Curt Hawkins marrying a previously unknown daughter of Linda McMahon, or Chris Jericho suffering a 16-month long knee injury two days before WrestleMania?
