Money in the Bank WWE Money In The Bank 2020 Discussion

Last time, on Money In The Bank:
    - Daniel Bryan, who was the WWE Champion a month ago, took the pinfall in a pre-show tag match
    - The Smackdown Women's Championship changed hands twice in the span of seven minutes
    - Brock Lesnar won a match he wasn't in and everyone just accepted it
    - The Cruiserweight Championship finally made the main card, and was cursed with a Tony Nese vs Ariya Daivari match
    - Shane McMahon defeated The Miz via oversized sports jersey
    - Probably other things!

Wasn't there a lot of bitching online?

    Oh, absolutely.

The online bitching was sadly not reflected within any of the guys who spent twenty minutes in that match before Brock rocked up. The story goes that all their work was for nothing, a guy who wasn't in the match took the win, and they all just shrugged their shoulders and did nothing about it.

Like I feel as though the ending, while still controversial and illogical, would've worked much better if there was a follow-up with the MITB guys vs Lesnar. Have some consequences and fallout. Kill time on a PPV with Brock vs MITB loser #1, then another PPV with Brock vs MITB loser #2, or something. Anything that said the people in the MITB match cared about what happened. But there were no consequences, no fallout, nothing. Outside of a few snarky twitter posts, no-one within the story or the match gave a damn that they had just been screwed out of a golden ticket, and that's probably the worst part about it.

Brock winning also gave us Boombox Brock

That certainly help ease the hate.

Re: WWE Money In The Bank 2020 Discussion

Brock Lesnar won Money in the Bank... the second-biggest travesty in 2019 aside from the coronavirus.

I digress... I'm not really excited for this year's MITB. I feel they could've postponed it. How many are competing in the ladder matches? I'm assuming just three, because that is all announced for now, and that was as many to compete in the ladder match at WrestleMania?

If this is the case, I'm not keen on seeing a 3-man Money in the Bank ladder match.

So WWE have announced the MITB matches will be very different and cinematic by the sounds of it, this could be highly entertaining and ridiculous at the same time

EDIT: Just saw this is in wrestling news so can delete if you want...

Re: WWE Money In The Bank 2020 Discussion

As mentioned on Smackdown, both the Men's MITB and the Women's MITB matches, will take place at the same time.

Twelve wrestlers, with likely more making cameo appearances, will be fighting through WWE Offices to make their way to the roof, upon which the Men's & Women's Cases will be hanging, presumably via helicopter.

To summarise, this is either going to be a hard-to-follow clusterfuck, or an absurdly enjoyable car crash.

Sounds like Shock revived his worst of pro wrestling thread at the right time.

Maybe Big Show can be a cameo and fall off a building roof again.

Re: WWE Money In The Bank 2020 Discussion

I'm actually really looking forward to this MitB concept...far more than I would be if the MitB ppv was just another normal ppv event. So...I'll give WWE credit where it's due. It will certainly be interesting to see how this all unfolds. I will say, I think it's overkill to do both the men's and women's matches simultaneously...but, I'm interested by the rest of it. I wish I hadn't seen the spoiler images of the set-up.

Re: WWE Money In The Bank 2020 Discussion

I was open minded about the whole fighting through the WWE Offices concept to get to the roof... But having the women's and men's at the same time ruins this for me. One, I think it will be to hard to follow. Two, grabbing the briefcase should be a real 'moment' for whoever gets it, but if they're right next to somebody else getting it in the same 'match', I think it kind of removes the gloss of the victory.

Obviously doesn't impact holding the briefcase in the long term, but ruins, on the night, what could be something of a career moment for some people.

Honestly, I don't mind them putting the matches together at all. If anything, it's probably for the better.

Wonder what the thinking is with putting MVP vs R-Truth on the main show and Jeff Hardy vs. Cesaro on Kickoff.

Decent enough opener. I'm never going to get used to these empty arena shows. Can't get into the matches at all.

Well...I hated that, tbh. Had some fun moments. But, damn...especially that ending. What?

Re: WWE Money In The Bank 2020 Discussion

Yeah that MITB match was way too much filler for the small cameo bits that actually made it sort of interesting. Liked the idea well enough, but it needed better producing and editing for sure. No idea what to feel about Otis with the MITB briefcase. I love the guy and see him having a great future but I don't buy him in the least as a world title contender right now. Actually, Tucker seems to me like the guy who will be able to really make an impact in singles competition one day. I just don't know. I kinda feel like Otis is going to lose it. I could even see them having Corbin baiting him into putting it on the line or something like that.

Rollins vs. McIntyre was really good though and Strowman vs. Wyatt at least sold their story well.

My only expectation from the MITB match was being able to sit back, watch it with friends and see some nonsense that I can say 'what is this lmaoooo' from beginning to the end, and it was very fulfilled. Plus Asuka won, so I'm a happy man.

The rest of the show was just decent, nothing too great, nothing too bad either.

Re: WWE Money In The Bank 2020 Discussion

I thought the MITB match was a lot fun, it’s pretty much what I was expecting so I was not disappointed. I’m cool with both winners, honestly I can see Otis using it for him and Tucker in the tag division. Best cameo for me was definitely Brother Love, but the Vince cameo was great too.

Rest of the show was solid all around, not a bad match imo.
