Didn’t Drew McIntyre cut essentially the exact same promo this time last year? Feels like 2019 was such a non-event for him after the Roman match (was was pretty disappointing) at WrestleMania.

Drew to me isn’t a main event guy, certainly at road to mania time, but at this point he’s a better horse to back than most.

Yeah I don't see Drew as a main event guy either, and I don't understand what you guys see in him either. He's the definition of big and bland to me. He's a good power guy, but that's all I can see in him.

Really? Have you been watching him the last year? Not only is he much more than just a power guy (he's actually quite versatile in ring), I would say he's cutting better promos than at least 75% of the roster on a regular basis. The whole "2020 is my year" is really stale and unimaginative material but generally speaking he can cut a great scathing promo and is convincing as anyone on the stick. Not to mention his presence being top notch. There are several more complete packages than him, but he's up there, and with his look it just makes sense for WWE to get behind him. That's my reasoning.

I’m with EC Drew is a total package and nothing about him screams power guy. Plus the Klaymore Kick is an awesome finisher.

I have and I can't help but want to skip practically anything and everything he's involved in, and its been this way since he was in NXT. Probably the only time I even got the least bit excited was when he showed up on Raw with Ziggler because that seemed like it had potential, but boy did it fall flat. Nothing about Drew makes him stand out to me, nothing screams watch me. He just flat out bores me.

Drew is decent, but he's like Randy Orton to me. He's a decent hand, but not someone I'd want to focus my product around.

I can't see Drew McIntyre main eventing WrestleMania any time soon but he is someone I was always rooting for.

Re: WWE Monday Night Raw Live Discussion - December 23, 2019

Drew's not the worst thing around in Pro Wrestling today, but he's nowhere near the top of my list of people I want to see in prominent roles.

I'd take him over Reigns, Rollins, Styles, etc at this point for no other reason than he's not them, so he's fresh. And beyond the McMahons pushing absolute garbage and jobbing out the real Pro Wrestlers on their roster what annoys me most is how stale the top of the card in WWE is with the same tiny group of people rehashing the same feuds.

Who are the "real" pro wrestlers and what exactly does that entail?

When people usually say real pro wrestlers, they usually say guys like Lou Thesz or Karl Gotch but I have a feeling this isn't what ETE means by "real pro wrestlers"

Pro Wrestlers with a complete skill set, I know people on this forum tend to fixate on ring work, but there's alot more than just moves that goes into Pro Wrestling. The abilities to cut a promo, display character/gimmick work, tell a story in and out of the ring all matter.

I have a hard time considering someone who can only do ring work as a real Pro Wrestler when their skill set is limited to one thing. Especially thesedays when things like promo work, personality, selling, story telling, etc are going extinct. Those skills are important and that needs to be recognised by more Wresters and fans.

And yes Miz is top of my list of people I consider real Pro Wrestlers because he can do it all, he's got a complete skill set as a Pro Wrestler. And I still don't get why that's an issue, I've stated numerous times he's along with Tessa the only person keeping me watching Pro Wrestling. What should I get into and force myself to enjoy the wrestlers that bore me just to appease you lot?

But its not just Miz, there are guys like Samoa Joe and Rusev who should be used alot better than they are based off their more complete Pro Wrestling skillsets.

Miz can't really do it all because his babyface runs have all pretty much failed. It really only worked at the start of the Shane McMahon stuff and then everyone stopped caring after Wrestlemania.

Oh I meant to say this a few days earlier, but the promo Joe cut on AOP while doing commentary was fantastic. It's so frustrating his body is giving up on him when his mic skills are incredible now.

And fair enough, that doesn't affect my enjoyment of The Miz or the fact that I'd personally build the company around him for various reasons. I don't get why it upsets people that I mark for the guy.

Is that Miz's fault though? I mean did that have nothing to do with the fact that he was buried by Shane McMahon and has proceeded to do absolutely nothing ever since? How many wrestlers would stay over in a big way if they were booked like The Miz has been booked where after the Shane burial he couldn't get a feud going for about 6 months, and would just pop up in random segments every week that often had zero to do with The Miz?

He's been a really good babyface, and been able to connect really well as a babyface when he's not being treated like a joke.

Re: WWE Monday Night Raw Live Discussion - December 23, 2019

To be fair, what current WWE main roster talent right now really can do it "all" on a consistent nightly basis? Outside of Bryan, Reigns, and Styles, there aren't many. But that's kind of the whole point of Vince McMahon's booking. He doesn't want there to be any real big cross-media stars anymore that get super over. WWE "the brand" is the selling point, that's his goal.
