    Dark Side of the Ring

Has anyone watched this? I discovered it last week and have watched 4 of the 6 episodes. The Von Erich and Bruiser Brody episodes are fascinating to watch but this is a great documentary!

Enjoyed the Brusier Brody and Von Erich episodes the most, but that was because going in I didn't really know the story behind them.

Best part of the Montreal one was Cornette and Russo arguing over which of them gave McMahon the idea for the screwjob

VICE make them, so for us it'll end up on Sky/Now TV hopefully later this year and then All4 shortly after. The first season is still available on both if you haven't had a chance to watch yet

It’ll be interesting how the Benoit episode plays out. From the recent interview with his other son, it seemed like the Benoit family wouldn’t participate or give their blessing to anything that included his final days. So I guess the talking heads will mainly be workers.

Re: Dark Side of the Ring

After watching the first part of the Benoit episode, I went back and watched season one of Dark Side of the Ring. Great series with their handling of everything. The Gino Hernandez stood out as the best from season 1. The funny thing is that despite being one of the biggest scandals in wrestling history, when you watch every ep (Including season 2's Chris Benoit ep), the Montreal Screw Job episode comes across as so trivial. It got to the point where I wasn't even finished watching the episode and I was questioning why it was a topic for the series.

Obviously, we have a thread for the Benoit episode, which I think we should still focus our talks on that subject there, but with season 2 here, it seems like a good time to get this thread going again to discuss the future episodes.

Besides the double Benoit episode, the season 2 topics will be:

    - New Jack
    - The Brawl for All
    - Jimmy Snuka
    - Dr. D David Schultz
    - Dino Bravo
    - Herb Abrams
    - Owen Hart
    - The Road Warriors

The topic that stands out the most is the Brawl for All. I know there were real injuries in it, but...why?

Insanely hoping Vince McMahon is a HUGE factor in this one.

Road Warriors will surely be around Hawk and his dependency issues.

I'm quite looking forward to the Dino Bravo one. I know he got caught up in some stuff but at the time it was a shock to find out he was no longer around.

I doubt they will, but the Road Warriors episode could even touch on Droz's accident as well.

It's most certainly a possibility as that was around the time of Hawk's demise wasn't it?

Droz's accident happened in the fall of 1999. Hawk's drunken angle took place in the fall of 1998 and Hawk died in the fall of 2003.

It's possible it will be mentioned, but the fact that the subject is listed as The Road Warriors and not The Legion of Doom makes it less likely to me that it'll include Droz.

This. These two are so funny and dumb arguing over something like this. Also nice that they closed out the doc with Cornette telling his piss on Russo’s grave story. The hate is real.

I was fascinated by Scott Hall claiming it was a work. The camera men had perfect coverage of Bret spitting in Vince’s face from two angles. And they cut to the hard cam so he could spell WCW with his fingers. If a wrestler did the same thing today with say AEW, they wouldn’t show any of it live. But maybe the production people and crew didn’t know and just assumed it was part of the show.

Re: Dark Side of the Ring

I just watched the Brody one and the Von Erichs. The Von Erichs was as painful as I figured it would be. I was kind of impressed at how well Kevin held it all together during it. I didn't know much about the Brody incident other than 'it happened' Tony Atlas was very animated about it though, moreso than I would've guessed. I'll probably peep the Montreal one tomorrow.

Hate is a hell of a motivator! I do love, Corny Haha!

I literally watched the Screwjob and the Savage/Miss Elizabeth episodes yesterday, really good.

Out of interest, does anyone here believe the Screwjob was a work like Scott Hall and a few others? I personally don't but It's interesting to hear the other opinion.

I'm not even sure it's a loyalty thing. I think he genuinely believes it.

After all, I'm pretty sure I seen in a WWE documentary, may have been the Bret vs Shawn rivalries one that Triple H said he suggested the screwjob angle to Vince lol.
