This is the least hyped I've been for a McGregor fight in ages. I was pretty confident he'd starch Cowboy but now I am starting to have some doubt creep in. He might get subbed.

My interest in UFC pretty much died when they switched to ESPN because I'm not subbing to that shit just to pay $70 for PPVs. But I just saw an ad the other day hyping his debut on ESPN+ set to Without Me by Eminem and I want him to get blasted into outer space

This card has some good fighters on it but no real big matchups outside of the main event.

Sodiq Yusuff vs. Andre Fili on the prelims should be a big time fight though!

Sucks for Claudia, she's been doing well lately, but a good move on Alexa's part to recognize that she can no longer make Strawweight.

Went about as perfect as McGregor could’ve hoped for. Cowboy folded as soon as that second shoulder landed, and I think he was looking saved for about 15 seconds before Herb stopped it.

That was just ridiculous. Conor made it look so easy, the odds were in his favour but I did not think he'd do it that easily.

Every big fight though all the casuals who know zero about combat sports come out of the woodwork claiming its fixed or that Cowboy is a can all over the internet.

Conor winning in impressive fashion. After losing his last fight and everything on top of that, he needed that.

Risk you take when buying MMA. I only ever spend money on full events and not main cards. I paid like 15 quid for RIZIN 20 and that's worth the money. I just stream UFC PPVs because I already contribute to their subscription service. Plus I'd rather not give Dana more money to keep from the fighters.

He's suddenly back with that look in his eye. It has to be said he did look crazy good.

Having something to prove will do that to you.

I didn't pay for the show for the same reason (and I wasn't planning on watching live so what's the point?). Usually the one fight cards don't fufill you the same way great cards do.

UFC cards nowadays are just a bunch of fights with no stakes and a few top fights. I remember when every month used to be crazy stacked and something to look forward to. Shit's a chore now.

Feel the same way. But it seems like nowadays there's a card every weekend, maybe one weekend off a month. I really do miss the days when there was 1 card a month, with a fight night sprinkled in there every now and again.

They definitely have over saturated things. Its rare thesedays that a weekend goes by without a UFC card. Too many unremarkable fighters, too many unappealing cards. Less is more as they say.

Re: UFC 246 January 18th, 2020 - McGregor vs Cerrone

I'd be totally cool with the oversaturation if it was constantly meaningful fights. But they are literally filling out roster spaces for people that are just there to be prelim fillers. It's annoying. I remember being super fucking excited about prelims airing on TV and Fight Pass starting. But now it's so difficult to keep track of anyone outside of the top 5 in each division really. The introduction of a ranking system was cool at first but now that they make sure to point out who's ranked and who isn't, it gives you very little reason to care for alot of fights. I remember times where I was excited for cards top to bottom and could reel them off with who is fighting. Now it's like I know/car about 3 or 4 fights on every card. The problem is, MMA's the type of sport where you just need to watch every fight if you're watching live because you don't know what the fuck is going to happen.

They really need to revert to cards being headlined by championship fights, contender fights and super fights.
