WC's Fave Five Robert De Niro Movies~!

Alright folks, one day of rest was more than enough, so let's get right back into the thick of things. This time around, in honour of the release of The Irishman, let's take a look at the storied career of one of the true living legends of cinema and decide our Fave Five Robert De Niro Movies~! Most of you know how this goes but if you've never done it before, it's pretty simple. All you've got to do to participate is PM me a list of your five favourite Robert De Niro movies (with 1 being your top choice) by no later than Thursday, December 5th at 9AM EST. I'll tally up the votes immediately after and we'll begin our countdown. Here's a list of the numerous great films Mr. De Niro has been in over the years to help get you started...

I will have to watch the Irishman before I put my list in. Will also need to rewatch Taxi Driver as I've only seen it once and wasn't very keen on it.

Godfather part 2 is legitimately my favourite film of all time so it's an easy number 1 pick for me, even ahead of other classics like Goodfellas.

I get the feeling my list is gonna be drastically different to most. Off the top of my head, most of my De Niro exposure is 2000's onwards haha.

    Oh no ...

I'm so sorry for you haha.

Not just for missing out on prime De Niro but also suffering through the aftermath.

To be fair, a cursory glance at his post-1999 work yields at least a few good performances...

    Men of Honor
    Meet the Parents
    City by the Sea
    The Good Shepherd
    Silver Linings Playbook
    American Hustle
    Joker

None of those will be even close to making my list, but it hasn't been ALL bad since the late 90's.

Oh, I love me some DeNiro. I’ll be checking out The Irishman this weekend since I’m off work all weekend, and there’s another DeNiro movie that I want to check out before submitting a list.

I don't know if The Irishman will crack my top 5, but we'll see after I watch it. Such a career, I may not even get to the late 90's.

Robert Dr Niro is actually on the top of my all time favorite actor list. He is number one for me. So this is going to be very difficult.

I've heard a lot of good things about The Irishman, too.

In fact...I think I'm going to have to watch that and a few of his more recent works before uploading mine.
    Everything will surely be alright.

Re: WC's Fave Five Robert De Niro Movies~!

I'm excited for this one. Not many with as good a resume as DeNiro. Actually only watched the King of Comedy for the first time last week too, so this is timely. Might try and watch the Irishman before sending my list in, but the 3 hour run time puts me off, and besides, I doubt it'll crack the consideration list for me. Have 8 in mind at the minute, so just need to decide which 3 to trim...

It's funny because I have the same feeling about The Irishman, wondering where I'm gonna find 3 1/2 hours to sit down and watch that, and yet every month where there's a 4 hour WWE PPV I'll just watch it without concerning myself on the length of the show. And no doubt the movie is better than whatever WWE are serving up currently!

you could just do what i do. i watch a movie until i fall asleep and then i finish it the next night. It has actually taken me 3 nights to finish a 90 minute movie.

What makes it odder, is the fact that I’m just not sure if it’ll be worth the time investment. Not expecting it to be a great film by any stretch. Yet, when it comes to the WWE shows I’ll sit up for, I’m going in almost expecting it to be not that good. Guessing it’s the ‘live’ aspect of wrestling shows thats the difference, for me anyway.

Yeah, I think I'll watch it sometime this weekend.
De Niro is arguably my favorite actor, possibly. At least top 3.

Plus it has Pacino, another top actor for me.
    Everything will surely be alright.

I'll be interested to see if anyone actually votes for The Irishman in their list. It's hard to believe it could reach favourite status on only one viewing, regardless of its overall quality.

I thought the Irishman was good but didn't blow me away. The quality of De Niro's top films is so high that being a good film isn't enough for me to consider it.
