Re: Impact Wrestling on AXS TV Discussion

God damn I'm getting lazy in my old age. I'll be tied up with some shit until close to 7 when the show begins where I live, so I'll go ahead and just drop the bullet points of what's happening on the show tonight.

    • Tessa Blanchard vs. Ace Austin for the X Division Championship
    • Daga vs. RVD
    • Michael Elgin vs. Eddie Edwards in match 4 of their best of 5 series
    • Gut Check returns~!

It looks like a really good show tbh. I might try to catch it live and give my live feedback in here.

Re: Impact Wrestling on AXS TV Discussion

It was indeed a solid show tonight!

Elgin and Edwards had another awesome, stiff, back and forth match and we're heading for a 5th and decisive match up.

Tessa and Ace had a much more crisp match up than the one they had at Sacrifice. Taya came out to cause the DQ and attack Tessa which felt pretty flat quite honestly, but I'm not surprised to see them revive this feud for the World Title, which should inevitably result in the first ever woman vs. woman Impact World Title match.

This week's Impact was... interesting I guess?

Sami Callihan was revealed as the ICU hacker (to no one's surprise) and threw a fireball at Ken Shamrock. So that was... something.

And Joey Ryan is now doing some kind of prudish, SJW parody gimmick?

    I don't know guys.

This episode felt like they just threw a bunch of random shit at the wall to see what sticks. Cancel Culture is just odd.

And Sami as the ICU. Just why? His previous gimmick was fine, whys he now suddenly a hacker? Did losing to Tessa break him and make him delve into technology to escape? Sami as he was before was brilliant, why fix what isn't broken?

Impact has locked down Kylie Rae. That's great news for them. She's easily the top female free agent in my eyes.

That's just what he does. I think he's also a producer and occasionally commentates their Impact Plus specials.

Re: Impact Wrestling on AXS TV Discussion

I was quite shocked at seeing the production of TNA the other week. I started in about 2009 and ended watching just around when they started on POP. I remember some quality slowly dipping during the POP days, but I flicked over for the first time in a few years and it reminds me of something like ICW. Was pretty crazy seeing it so hugely scaled down. It's shame because it looks like they've spent time investing in lesser known talent for years now, and if it had only focused on that around 2011, maybe it'd have been able to build some guys up.
And the NEW UFC Middleweight Champion.....

Anybody check out Night 1 of Rebellion? Wasn't too bad from what I've watched so far. Still have the main event and the co main event to go.

Ace Austin/Willie Mack sounds pretty dope. The rest of the card doesn't exactly scream "watch me" though.

Can somebody tell Ken Shamrock to retire already as well? Why do TNA or himself think he's a draw? He's not.

I watched the Full Metal Mayhem match between Rosemary and Havok and....it just didn't work for me. The hype package for the match was just ridiculous. Havok apparently killed James Mitchell. They have a whole place called the undead realm. I'd be embarrassed if someone saw me watching this because it's too over the top, and this is coming from someone who watches Riverdale. The match itself was cringeworthy and honestly just didn't work with the whole "empty arena" concept.

The other match that I caught was the main-event between Hernandez/Moose/Elgin. That match was absolutely terrible. Moose should not be anywhere near a microphone or a ring. They gotta get it together in Impact because it just looks like a carnival act.

Yeah, had nothing on last week's episode. I did mark out for the old TNA Championship appearance though.

Hopefully Tessa can show up to the next taping, and we can move forward with a Championship picture.

As for the Rosemary Havok stuff. Yeah, I stuck with it when Su Yung was feuding with Allie, and that had the Underworld stuff, but the stuff with Father Mitchell recently was too much.

I'd go back and watch any of their recent pay per views over watching Rebellion, but if you're gonna watch rebellion go with night 1.

I was pretty disappointed with Rebellion. I wish that they would focus more on in ring talent than over the top stuff.
