Saturday Morning Slam WWE Crown Jewel/Blood Money IV Card & Discussion

Round four of this series, October 31st!

    WWE Championship
Brock Lesnar (c) vs Cain Velasquez

The WWE Universe was left in utter shock when Brock Lesnar hit a sudden F-5 to defeat Kofi Kingston in less than 10 seconds to capture the WWE Championship on the premiere of Friday Night SmackDown on FOX. Before anyone could catch their breath, however, Rey Mysterio’s music suddenly blared through the arena. The Master of the 619, who was decimated alongside his son by Lesnar on Monday, hit the scene sporting a sling on his arm, but he didn’t come alone. Rey had considerable backup in the way of Lesnar’s former MMA rival Cain Velasquez.

Stepping between the ropes, Cain absolutely unloaded on The Beast, dropping him with a double-leg takedown and landing several stiff strikes. The ambush caused Lesnar to retreat, and the new WWE Champion looked as if he had just seen a ghost.

As a result of the incident, WWE made the monumental announcement four days later that Lesnar will once again step into the ring against Velasquez at the WWE Crown Jewel pay-per-view with the WWE Championship on the line.

Lesnar's attack on Mysterio and his son has made the coming contest extremely personal for Velasquez, who has pledged to make his opponent relive the nightmare of their past showdown. Each and every time The Beast has looked in the mirror for the past nine years, he's had to see the scar that Velasquez gave him when Velasquez defeated him for the UFC Heavyweight Championship. The return bout is an opportunity for Lesnar to finally right that wrong, while Velasquez can once again dethrone him.

Don’t miss when Lesnar once again faces off against Velasquez when WWE Crown Jewel emanates from the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, streaming live on WWE Network on Thursday, Oct. 31, at 8 p.m. AST/1 p.m. ET.

Following a highly publicized confrontation with Strowman on the FOX premiere of Friday Night SmackDown, the always unpredictable Fury was offered an open mic during an appearance on Monday Night Raw. However, Fury’s demands for an apology quickly led to fighting words with The Monster Among Men and then to an actual fight in which Strowman and the undefeated lineal heavyweight boxing champion battled their way through a sea of security guards and Superstars to trade fists.

In the aftermath, Strowman pledged that Fury would “Get These Hands” during a brief backstage interview. Strowman immediately followed up by charging back into the ring to continue the fight with Fury as Raw went to black.

Then, prior to SmackDown the following Friday, WWE made the blockbuster announcement that Strowman will indeed go head-to-head with Fury when WWE returns to Riyadh at Crown Jewel.

The monumental announcement was made when Hogan and Flair appeared as special guests on “Miz TV” during the season premiere of Monday Night Raw, with Miz shining the spotlight on the decades-long rivalry between the two. Now, on the international stage, they have the perfect opportunity to continue their game of one-upmanship.

The Hulkster originally selected Universal Champion Seth Rollins to be his team captain, but after The Architect was placed in a Universal Title Falls Count Anywhere Match against "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt, it was determined that he could no longer take part. As a result, Hogan turned to The Big Dog to lead his pack and named Roman Reigns the new captain on SmackDown. In addition, Hogan filled out his roster with Rusev, Ricochet, Shorty G and Ali. Meanwhile, Flair has chosen his former Evolution stablemate Randy Orton as his captain, and added King Corbin, Bobby Lashley and Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura. The final member of Team Flair is set to be revealed in the coming weeks.

Mansoor shocked the world with his win in the first-ever 50-Man Battle Royal at WWE Super ShowDown in June. En route to that victory was an elimination of Cesaro with Mansoor sending The Swiss Cyborg to the outside with a scintillating dropkick.

Moments later, Mansoor last eliminated Elias to elicit a raucous reaction. Mansoor found his way into the crowd, celebrating his massive triumph with his fellow countrymen, and an emotional speech followed in the ring shortly after.

Now, Mansoor and Cesaro square off once more, but in much different circumstances. Will Mansoor find a way to overcome the odds yet again?

    Universal Championship
Falls Count Anywhere Match that can't be stopped for any reason
Seth Rollins (c) vs Bray Wyatt

    Quote Originally Posted by WWE.com

Since his ghoulish transformation, Bray Wyatt has terrorized everyone in sight. He made quick work of Finn Bálor in the ring at SummerSlam and punished legends Kurt Angle, Jerry “The King” Lawler and Mick Foley with horrifying ambushes, punctuated by the debilitating Mandible Claw. Rollins then became the next victim in the closing moments of WWE Clash of Champions, as Wyatt ruined Rollins’ celebratory moment with a thunderous Sister Abigail at the top of the stage and another Mandible Claw. Nevertheless, Rollins was a true fighting champion, and even though he was still reeling from the attack, he agreed to face Wyatt inside Hell in a Cell.

Rollins truly left a piece of himself inside the dreaded structure and was forced to go to a place he dared to not dream about in his worst nightmares in an attempt to overcome the seemingly unbeatable foe. Despite his efforts, though, Rollins failed to defeat Wyatt. Instead, the bout was called off via a referee stoppage before Wyatt rose from the pile of metal that Rollins buried him under to ensnare The Beastslayer in the Mandible Claw to leave him in a heap.

During Rollins' match against Roman Reigns on Friday Night SmackDown weeks later, Wyatt once again attacked The Beastslayer, briefly pulling him through the ring to hell before Seth escaped. Then, on Monday Night Raw, the Universal Champion launched a sneak attack of his own and burned it down ... and by "it," we mean Wyatt's Firefly Funhouse.

Destiny is inescapable, and the bitter adversaries made it through hell in order to face the day of reckoning. Whose reckoning will it be? The Falls Count Anywhere Match will assure a new level of destruction, but will the uncontrollable monster emerge victorious and set WWE into an era of darkness? Or will the unyielding determination of the Universal Champion finally cast a light on the wicked conundrum?

Do people actually watch these over-hyped house shows? Even if I wasn't disgusted on a moral level, nothing happens on these cards.

Re: WWE Crown Jewel/Blood Money IV Card & Discussion

I watched the Greatest Royal Rumble and found it so dull that I couldn't even enjoy how bad it was. I've listened to POSTWrestling's recap shows of the others, and it all just sounds boring over entertainingly terrible. Like the Fiend/Seth Hell in a Cell was entertainingly bad until the DQ/stoppage at which point it just became bad but nothing on these has had that kind of appeal for me.

Oh God. Rollins vs. Fiend is on this show? What a devastatingly bad idea.

Is Rollins still gonna be on Team Hogan too??

Also, SJW, you got the titles at stake out of order. Rollins vs. Fiend will be for the Universal Title while Lesnar vs. Velasquez is for the WWE Championship (which I actually thought it wasn't going to be).

Call me R-Truth because this one's my bad.

I have to imagine Seth'll get subbed out of the 5v5 tag match at some point in the near future. He's still listed as Team Hogan on WWE.com, so I guess time will tell.

I still love, respect and value you.

Can't wait for RAW where Rollins will be replaced on Team Hogan by none other than WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2019 inductee, Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake!

I, too, saw the GRR, and the Rumble match itself was a who's who of "Who?" I haven't watched any of the other Saudi Shows, although I did watch the Balor vs Andrade match when it was featured on WWE Network's Greatest I-C title matches a few months ago. And during one of the recent Saudi shows, I went on WWE Network during the live broadcast, and watched another show of some sort. Basically, telling WWE that I'm online and watching WWE Network, I'm just not going to watch this event. And as far as the "Blood Money IV" designation, it wasn't until well after Greatest Royal Rumble that the problems between US and Saudi developed, so I don't consider GRR to be a "Blood Money" show, so Crown Jewell 2019 is "Blood Money III" in my book.

DYING at them using the 2002 render of GM Ric Flair again

Add Gable and Reigns to Team Hogan and maybe one more if Seth is getting replaced, and then give Flair Gulak and that could turn into a fun 5 on 5 match. I'm assuming Bryan Black and Owens won't be making the trip again.

I don't know why this didn't occur to me during Raw, but the worst thing about running Rolins/Fiend again isn't that we're getting a shite match again, it's that they've booked themselves right back in the same fucking corner again on a winner, this time with the problem of you can't have Bray win because he'll be on the wrong brand. This is just like when Ryback was slowly built up from after mania 28 and then jumped right up to challenging CM Punk a couple of times on PPV but they didn't want to make a title switch so it just killed the momentum dead with silly finishes.

I completely forgot to post my thoughts on the card. I like this card for this show. The reason being that I have no interest in the Lesnar vs Velazquez or Strowman vs Fury, so they might as well do them at a show I'm not going to watch anyway instead of wasting a potentially good show like Survivor Series.

I know some people are expecting Trips to be Flair's last guy and that's quite possibly the case. But at the same time, Orton has already been designated the team captain so whoever the last man is, I don't see them being a bigger deal than Orton. My bold prediction is Drew McIntyre.

We suspected it, but Seth Rollins has been removed from his role as Team Hogan's captain. Replacing him is Roman Reigns, along with Mustafa Ali and Chad Gable Shorty G to round out the team.

On a lighter note, the stipulation for Seth Rollins vs Bray Wyatt now reads 'Falls Count Anywhere Match that can't be stopped for any reason.'

Dying at the ‘can’t be stopped for any reason’ line. This damn company.

Inb4 Drew gets chosen as the last pick just so we can see the unholy Drew, Corbin and Lashley trio one last time.
