I'm looking forward to this. At least Vince has decided to do something different, so that has to be a good sign. I'm not expecting any drastic changes to happen straight away - but over time I'm hoping for some positives, and 2 distictly different brands.

Wow, this came out of nowhere!

I thought it was going to be a joke or something when I seen the headline Haha!

It's definately a shake up and I'm pretty excited to see how it goes down. I hope both shows are presented completely different and can't wait to see what changes come hopefully in the coming weeks. Just hope Vince gives them the platform to actually do what they want too and make the changes needed.

I feel like it's more of a PR move to try to appease fox that they're making an effort to improve the quality of their shows ahead of the move of networks, moreso than them admitting they are producing garbage television at the moment.

I highly doubt it's going to result in much change, but hopefully Eric and Paul push for no wildcard to remove one big issue I have with WWE atm.

Hoping that Eric & Heyman are strong enough and financially sound enough that they woudn't be coming back without assurances that they will actually be allowed to do things their way to a degree without Vinne Mac micro managing everything.

I'm sure Heyman will have just as much control as he did when he ran WWECW in 2006.

    That's the concern Haha!

But ultimately if that's what happens, then more fool him to be honest dude.

Re: Heyman And Bischoff : Executive Directors

Agree with, Ed - its a pure PR move. Its just two more voices in the messy mix of voices that are all, ultimately, drowned out by the same guy who's been responsible for almost 40 years. Even if it was full control with no oversight.... these are two guys who had their peaks almost 20 years ago. More, for Bischoff.

Wish this gave me anything more than just a shrug reaction, but the WWE doesn't exactly give one a lot of reason for hope at this point.

Just like when the McMahons came back and "Gave the show back to the fans".

It's all a load of crap, and the product will likely be just as terrible as it has been.
    Everything will surely be alright.

    Very cynical Haha!

Well at this point, I'd have giving Russo another go just to see something different And if it's a PR move (Which is possible) and they're just going to be used in that way without actually having a say or assurances well more fool them and they're not quite the geniuses that the wrestling community believes them to be, IMO because there reputations will be linked with the continued drop in the ratings if it goes that way from here out.

    We will see :/

These guys won't make any difference, they're figureheads and guys to point the finger at when things continue to go south.

Then Triple H, someone with actual power to make real changes and be hailed as the one who "saved" WWE and is the greatest wrestling genius of all time. I can just see it happening in my head now.

I can totally picture it just being Bischoff coming out announcing two out of three fall matches, and mostly being made a fool in skits.

This. Rather much this. Its a layer of insulation. When the ratings don't improve or get worse and the networks are agitated, these two get the ax despite it still being the same people - person - running things throughout.

Well, can't blame us for being cynical and not having high expectations.

It's not like this is the first time we've seen something like this.
    Everything will surely be alright.

Re: Heyman And Bischoff : Executive Directors

The optimistic side of me wants to see this work. I'm probably more interested in seeing how SD creatively works under Eric's influence rather than Raw under Heyman as Heyman has had his hand in with things for ages anyway.

The cynic in me says it'll be done by the end of the year and Vince will hire new guys to take the fall.
I have a plan so cunning......

Re: Heyman And Bischoff : Executive Directors

While I'm excited about the prospect of Bischoff and Heyman running both shows behind the scenes, I can't help but feel pessimistic about this and I don't think anythign will change. Why? Because they both ultimately report to Vince still and everythig will still need to go through him and we'll still have the endless last minute rewrites and then rewrites of the rewrites happening during the show and the product will still suck.

I sincerely hope that the above shackles won't be put on these two genius minds and that they're left to run these shows in a creative way.

Re: Heyman And Bischoff : Executive Directors

So I'm a bit curious... anyone who believes that this is legit as presented and Heyman and Bischoff will actually get significant control to make significant changes.... what leads you to this belief? Is it anything other than just pure hope?

Its widely accepted that Vince is the root cause. Whether you believe he won't listen to anyone or he listens to everyone, he is the one who ultimately sets all the parameters that create problems for fans. Whether who its to push, what story arcs to tell, making every promo scripted, all of it. and if he was willing to accept change and cede that control.... why bring in external individuals? Granted, Heyman is already sorta an inside guy but not fully. This is a company that is struggling to be profitable currently, and its unlikely that these two are working for cheap. Why not lean on some of the creative minds already in the company - Triple H, Stephanie, Pritchard, etc?
