SD Live WWE Smackdown Live Discussion - June 11, 2019

    Smackdown LIVE Preview
    June 11, 2019

The New Day returns to clash with Ziggler, Owen's and Zayn

WWE Champion Kofi Kingston walked out of Super ShowDown with a win over Dolph Ziggler, but The Showoff immediately demanded a title rematch after Xavier Woods got involved. To prevent anyone from interfering in a potential rematch, Ziggler asked for a Steel Cage Match, and he will get his wish at WWE Stomping Grounds.

However, tonight on SmackDown LIVE, it will be three-on-three, as The New Day return at full strength to take on Ziggler, Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn in a huge Six-Man Tag Team Match. Big E is back from the knee injury that put him out of action and is ready to back up the WWE Champion and Woods, while Ziggler has found allies in KO & Zayn, who have no love lost with the pancake-loving trio.

Who will claim a monumental victory heading into WWE Stomping Grounds?

Will Roman Reigns respond to Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon

Last night on Raw, Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre threw a Super ShowDown celebration to gloat over The Best in The World’s victory against The Big Dog last Friday in Jeddah. The Scottish Terminator also vowed to maim Reigns beyond recognition when the two clash at WWE Stomping Grounds on Sunday, June 23.

Will The Big Dog have anything to say in response?

Can Bayley bounce back from tag team loss on Raw?

SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley had a rough go of it on Raw last night. Taking advantage of the Wild Card Rule, The Hugger arrived on the red brand to join forces with Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch to square off with their respective Stomping Grounds opponents -- Alexa Bliss and Lacey Evans -- in a champions vs. challengers tag team battle.

Unfortunately, Bayley came out on the short end, as The Sassy Southern Belle defeated her after knocking the champion out with a Woman’s Right. Can The Hugger bounce back as she prepares to battle The Goddess at WWE Stomping Grounds? Find out tonight on SmackDown LIVE at 8/7 C on USA Network!

Great to see Big E back.

The wildcard has killed any of my interest in this show.

It was definitely a mess. But I was impressed with Carmella's suicide dive. Don't think I can remember her ever doing that.

Yeh Carmella def has been improving, and is very athletic. That dive was pretty awesome.

Kofi coming out as Champion with pancakes to me is amateur. I don't know just looks fucking silly to me. I get that's their gimmick, but fuck.

So Aleister Black does another promo calling people out. Reading a story earlier Black said his call up was legit last minute. I'm confused why with such a talent like Black WWE can't figure out how to use him. At least he's getting air time, but I want to see him in the ring.

Just hoping there's some kind of decent payoff to these promos.

WWE have about 100 talented wrestlers under contract and both raw and Smackdown seem to have a disturbing amount of time dedicated to 50 year old Shane McMahon.

Yeah, no idea why they keep going for this but hey.

    "It's such good shit."

Meanwhile, Liv Morgan is working dark matches with Ember Moon.
    Everything will surely be alright.

Not agreeing with the huge push Shane has gotten in 2019 thus far because now it’s being shoved down our throats, but his program with The Miz was probably the only storyline that I can remember in recent memory WWE actually planned out well in advance. He won the tourney in November which eventually set the stage for the tag team w Miz and Miz’s face turn/WM Match.

Compared to the crash television we get and the PPVs with matches thrown together at the last minute, it’s a shame they wasted the time and logical booking on Shane instead of someone who could have benefitted from a push.

I mean, it was sort of fun to see Shane come out every handful of years.....do his little...dance of sorts. Get a match where he does some crazy stunt spot. And then, just kind of have that be it.

But him being a constant thing? Ugh.

Having to see Shane's god awful punches twice each week is too much.
    Everything will surely be alright.

Poor Ember, I understand her pain. Here’s hoping this leads to something with them

Aside from another unnecessary Shane segment, I thought this show was decent. I thought Elias vs Miz was solid and the main event was fun.

WWE: its so weird that our ratings are dropping... Makes no sense! We are giving the fans so much good shit!

Also WWE: starts Smackdown with 20 minutes of Shane McMahon after giving Raw 20 minutes of Shane McMahon.

Re: WWE Smackdown Live Discussion - June 11, 2019

The whole Shane McMahon thing has jumped the shark at this point. He's been doing good work as a heel, dont get me wrong. But its 2019 why is Shane the top heel in the WWE in 2019? Why is Shane the one and only heel in the company that isn't a jobber?

Cant get Nak, or Rusev, or Balor, or Orton, etc on the show but they can have half an hour of Shane, after we already saw 20 minutes of Shane 24 hours earlier.

At this point I cant help but wonder are the McMahon's intentionally sabotaging their own product at this point?

And that's an entirely believable rumour too. 2019 and there's a genuine chance Shane McMahon is a World Champion. Most of the current WWE roster doesn't interest me at all but there's better options than Shane. There's better options than presenting Shane as the top heel in the company.
