Its funny seeing JBL, Striker and Graves winning this in the past when most people grew to despise their commentary work.

Certainly in the case of Striker and Graves it's similar to Mauro where they took the things that made them good and over emphasised them. They all became caricatures.

JBL is a different story, he just got really bad after his first stint on commentary. He was truly amazing with Cole back on SD in 06-07. Went way out of his way to put over everyone he could (except the Miz).

Indeed they are. Mauro at least has some big positives to his work, he just has big negatives as well.

It sort of seems like the longer a commentator is in the WWE system the worse they get, a lot of these guys a re really good at first them they get stuck in bad habits.

Yeah I thought Vic was great tonight on Takeover Cardiff. Screaming Nigel, not so much.

As far as color commentators go, I like Corey Graves, except when he tries too hard to be a heel. I also like the chemistry between him and Renee Young. I find Renee Young to be mostly green. She isn't terrible, but could be better given more experience.

    Graves or Ranello for me.

I have to say, I'm all for equality and I like Renee Young but she sucks so bad on commentary IMO. I think Beth Phoenix is better to be honest.

I would have maybe given a shout out to Excalibur but I thought he was a bit shaky at All Out.

Was Goldenboy actually good? He only stood out to me as being competent compared to Alex “Mike Adamle” Marvez, an ageing forgetful JR and Excalibur on a bad night.

Yea All Out commentary was awful.

I know he stands no chance but Byron when Kofi wins brought tears to my eyes.

I hated that, tbh. Not sure what it was but his call in that moment felt very offputting to me.

As soon as he was announced I knew he'd be one of the better choices for this. Him and Jim Cornette

Excalibur's pretty unnoteworthy on AEW. I'd like him to excel because it'd make Cornette being pissed off about the mask even funnier, but it seems clear he's intimidated by having to work with JR and comes off nervous. It'd be good to hear him get as comfortable as he is in PWG.

He seemed a lot more comfortable with Tazz on Dark last week
