Prince rules and Metallica rules, nuff said.

Seriously, Purple Rain is an excellent album, every song delivers. Prince was truly one of a kind, there will never be another like him. Ride The Lightning is up there as one of my favorite Metallica albums, the opening bells on For Whom The Bell Tolls still gets me pumped up.

I might have voted for The Boss and Madonna. There are some others that are listed that have one or two good songs, and I would definitely add to that Elton John's album that included "Sad Songs Say So Much". I'm not always familiar with which albums are in which year, I had to look up my favorite artists and many of them did not have albums in '84. The closest thing is that singles from Billy Joel's "An Innocent Man" were released in '84 though the album was in '83.
