    Seth Rollins

Not really much need for me to make a huge argument here I don't think. Quite shocked that he does not already have a thread.

So here's a man who could and probably will find himself in quite a few peoples Top 50 - but as he had no thread, I thought I'd make him one. He did go away with an injury which has probably made his position on peoples list a little lower then it would have been. He started his 2015 in one of the best matches of that year, if not the best, taking on Lesnar and Cena at Royal Rumble 2015. He then won the WWE Championship at Mania '31 in one of the best matches of that year. He continued on with one of the best heel runs in recent WWE memory. After an injury, he then rejoined WWE, hitting Reigns with the Curb Stomp at Money in the Bank, before returning and winning the WWE Championship a second time in a rather good match at Money in the Bank 2016 against Reigns. We then got the Shield Triple Threat match before Rollins challenged for the Universal Championship against Balor. He was then involved in the - fun - Survivor Series 2016 main event as part of Team RAW.

Fast forward to 2017, you had Seth Rollins face Triple H at Wrestlemania. Rollins then won the Tag Titles with Dean Ambrose at that years Summerslam in a match that many people consider to be a really good match. We then had The Shield return as a group at TLC competing in a TLC 5 on 1 handicap match with pinfalls in which Braun Strowman was murdered. Rollins entered the Rumble match in 2018; lasting almost twenty minutes getting a couple of eliminations in The Miz and Cesaro. He then had that stand out performance on RAW in the gauntlet match. Seth then became more involved with the Intercontinental Championship facing Miz and Balor at Mania 34 in one of the best Mania's on that card. He then main evented Extreme Rules in a 30 minute Iron Man Match with Dolph Ziggler.

Fast forward to this year and he is now WWE Champion again.

    Re: Seth Rollins

This will be fun. He had an alright 2015 with matches against Nevile on Raw and Orton at WM. He had a good half of 2017 with the Deam Ambrose team against The Bar but the rest of the year is completely forgettable and he was looking to be one of the worst on the roster until Ambrose started to tag. I didn't think much of him at all. Occaisonally he had a solid match with Kevin Owens and The Miz but the rest wasn't my cup of tea. I didn't put him in any top lists last year. In fact 2018 is when I fully soured on him as an in-ring wrestler. Maybe he'll do better this year, but I don't think he'll make my top 50.

    Re: Seth Rollins

I'm not going to rule him out straight away, because there have been point of his career that I've really enjoyed. He has the Rumble 3 way in 2015, his initial return in 2016 produces a few very good matches over the WWE title, from Summer 2017-Summer 2018 I think he's a legitimately great wrestler where the only thing that holds him back is annoying booking. However there's also times where he's someone I have no interest in watching like his heel title run of 2015, his feud with Owens in 2016, the Triple H feud, the Ziggler feud last year. So he's a real mixed bag.

With the Universal title around his waist now, this could be a big year for him in terms of big match opportunities. I see 2019 as the make or break year for me in this project.

    Re: Seth Rollins

He has the worst chance of the three Shield guys of making my list. I think he is an incredibly flawed wrestler who requires someone to really reign him in order to produce great stuff. A lack of great singles matches is a glaring fault. He has a couple of great singles matches to his name but if you give me one of his highly touted ones, I'll probably hate it.

He has a great match with Reigns when Reigns was churning them out left right and centre. He has a really good match with Miz, Ambrose and Balor. His tag stuff with Ambrose was decent. Everything else is a big black mark for me and I'd be very surprised if I even ended up giving him a second look.

Yeah, I love Rollins. I definitely think he's good, speaking as objectively as possibly. But as a worker, I wouldn't class him as great when you break down all the elements you tend to associate with elite workers, including psychology, selling, timing, variety, elevating others, etc. If 2013 and 2014 were relevant here I think I'd easily say he belongs on the list somewhere, even if it's close to the bottom. I guess it will all come down to the rest of 2019 to decide whether I put him on my list or not.

He has a way better chance of making my list than Ambrose.

I don't think either will make my list in the end but I think Ambrose in 2016 was better than Rollins at any point.

    Re: Seth Rollins

For someone who is probably one of the top 3 most pushed workers of the period, really struggling to think of a single memorable singles match he's had over the last 4 and a bit years. The big heel title run was pretty mediocre, can't imagine thinking it was one of the best runs in years.

    Re: Seth Rollins

most people would consider AJ a top WWE guy for this, but I thought Styles vs Rollins was pretty flat until the final minutes. Rollins just is not a good singles wrestler, I think that's clear from how many opportunities and how much spotlight he's had over the last decade and how underwhelming most of his matches are. He is all athleticism and workrate, no substance. All fart and no shit.
