Agnes Varda, the mother of French New Wave cinema, has passed away at 90. Cleo from 5 to 7 is still one of the best movies I’ve ever seen and it may not even be her best work. RIP.

Natural causes at that age is a shocker indeed.

One of the great "That Guys" in movies and television, prolific character actor Seymour Cassel passed away at 84. He's also the person responsible for giving Slash his stage name.

NBA HOFer and Boston Celtic legend John "Hondo" Havlicek passed away at 79. All around stand up guy, I've never heard anyone say a bad thing about him. He would still suit up for scrimmages with Bird, McHale and Parrish in 1981 when he was 41, they tried to talk him out of retirement.

Director John Singleton has passed away. He had a stroke and was on life support but apparently his family had chosen to remove him off of it. He directed the movies Boyz N The Hood, Poetic Justice, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Baby Boy, Higher Learning, Four Brothers, and Shaft.

    RIP

I read about him being taken off life support when I got home from work. Seems like it's similar to what happened to Luke Perry. Very sad. He directed many movies that I enjoyed.

He also directed the music video for Michael Jackson’s “Remember the Time”. I’m gonna watch Boyz N the Hood and a few of his other movies in his honor.

    Re: 2019 Celebrity Memorial Thread

Aww man, that sucks. I know he didn’t play him in the last couple of movies but he’ll always be Chewie to me. I was just about to start a Star Wars re-watch so this will be a little bittersweet for sure.

    RIP

    "I think we found him"

Those were the Words Lucas said meeting Peter Mayhew for the first time when I think he was working at a Old Folks home. That one moment changed his life and just like he was grateful being apart of the Star Wars family, I'm grateful and thankful of the work he gave us with that hot ass Suit on all day for us.
