    Sheamus

We have a thread for Cesaro and all the praise for The Bar there, but Sheamus is still class and no slouch at all.

I can't remember him having much singles work in recent years - apart from against Cesaro, and all of those matches ruled - but is a great bruiser tag team worker. Works tight, lays in believable beatings, has great chemistry with Cesaro, and together they are great at laying out a typical heel tag structure. I feel he is at danger of being written off as just 'Cesaro's partner', but if you enjoyed a Bar match, Sheamus will have played a big part in it.

sheamus has the really good series of matches with Reigns late in 2015. I don’t think they are as good as Cesaro’s singles matches, but still damn good and maybe the only time Reigns was organically getting popular babyface reactions for a number of years.

What I said with Cesaro stands, I like the bar but another year of them just being there means lower end at best.

I really like Sheamus but he's another where I think it's the wrong half of the decade for him. Lots of periods of doing nothing or being in boring matches and feuds, even if his work has always been solid.

All the same stuff as Cesaro applies to him, great talent on his own but wish he was put in position to have great matches more and he could be something really special.

Good wrestler, loads of good matches under his belt under the bar tag name but not a lot as a singles guy. Shock said it best, wrong part of the decade for him. Maybe a low Top 50 spot.

    Re: Sheamus

Gotta say, I like what Shock alluded to. If this was about 2010 upwards to 2015, yeah Sheamus would be considered but I don't really see anything he's done since 2015 as memorable. You had the League of Nations which, had so much potential but just ended up awful. Make no mistake about it, Sheamus's role when he won the World Title - just like with all the other members of the League of Nations was to make Roman Reigns look strong. I can not think off the top of my head one good Sheamus singles match since 2015. I get your point about how Sheamus might fall to "just Cesaro's partner" and I fully appreciate the arguments you've made - but for me, he is simply just Cesaro's partner. Cesaro is the stand out in that group and the member of the Bar who seems to be the Highlight Reel in matches for me!

Zero chance of making my top 50. 2019 has been a nothing year for him.

    Re: Sheamus

I sort of had him on based on the strength of the Cesaro series and that awesome year they had as a tag team, but will need to see what else there is to justify it

    Re: Sheamus

Sheamus is one of those guys that's got a better shout for best of the whole decade rather than the latter half. Because while he does have some great tag matches, none of them are something that could bolster a claim for this. Nothing too high, anyway. Injuries in the past few years have hurt him, too.
