While the US and England seem to keep going backwards (especially the US), at least somewhere is moving forward.

Yeah Tommy R is a dick and only the uneducated are the people that think he's some kind of British hero. There's EDL marches all the time in Dudley so he has some supporters around here for sure. He may of even hindered the grooming case he was there to cover yesterday.

Good news on Ireland, I did see the exit polls last night just before I went to bed, landslide victory for YES is great. The country has spoken.

Why are England (not UK?) going backwards in your view Dook? Especially in the context of Ireland reaching a point that we reached in 1967.

Brexit, some of the Islamic stuff, etc. I'm hardly educated in English politics, mind you, but at least in some of those situations it's very backwards. But like I've said before, you guys did Brexit and we one upped you in a big way on the stupid train.

I think we are going backwards because Brexit has been handled so poorly. I'm not against Brexit, but the government's handling of it terrible and nobody knows what is going on. UK politics is worse than its been in decades, and the population is getting more divided.

If we don't sort out this whole Brexit thing then we might be speeding up that last bit too.

Read a headline this morning; RIP Conservative Ireland

    Yup.

Of course, The Catholic Church has reached out and made a statement, but after what they've done over the years, they've lost any right to get involved with politics.

I figured the current Pope would support it.

    Most liberal Pope ever.

SNP MPs all walked out today after Bercow dismissed Ian Blackford for wanting a debate during PMQs.

I don't think this is good for the Government in the slightest.

Labour have also majorly fucked themselves here again.

    The joys.

The SNP are playing a blinder here. None of Scotland wants to leave the EU, and the government are trying to restrict Scotland's impact on parliament.

The proposed law against Upskirting was going to be unanimously agreed by Parliament. I mean, why wouldn't it, it makes sense that it's illegal to take pictures up a person's skirt without consent.

Until one lone Tory MP, Christopher Chope, decided to object it, nullifying the proposal.

Even IF for some absurd reason you didn't want to see this law pass, why would you object to it, publicly, when literally every other MP was for it, and it makes him look like a total creeper.

    Unbelievable.

Though if you check out his voting record, he doesn't exactly seem like the most pleasant guy.

I don't post in this thread because I don't really pay enough attention to the political aspects of the UK or Ireland to have a fair opinion. However, this really caught my attention. So someone objected to a law making up skirting illegal? I mean, I am reading that right, correct? Geez. That guy needs his ass whipped for doing to if that is the case.

Yep. It's every bit as bad as it sounds.

The law will still pass eventually, and it's still treated as a crime at the moment (but hasn't been written explicitly into law). But this guy is a total bell end.

    David Davis has resigned.

What a complete and utter shitshow. Remain or leave, nobody voted for this incompetence. I would say this is the end for May but the spineless cockroach will probably survive this too.
