Warren vs Sanders is definitely a manipulated attack by the GOP (and/or Russia?) in an attempt to assist the 2020 election in favor of Trump.

They did it last year where they turned all of the Bernie supporters off of Hillary, which in turn caused them to vote third party.

I just hope this year we can rally around the Democratic winner and not be petty. There are going to be a lot of underhanded tactics that will try and then democrats against each other.

Loser of Bernie vs Warren should become the other's VP honestly.

Bernie and Warren together sounds disastrous. Warren doesn't instill confidence tbh. Bernie's federal jobs guarantee is lame as fuck too.

If Bernie wins, he should choose Yang as VP.

But Yang is gonna win so...

How? I see nothing wrong with what Yang says there. All he's saying is he gets the idea and understands why people may want to do things but he has a better idea. The fourth picture seems very... out of context or at least misleading. He's weak on things like foreign policy and arguably the climate (because he's like the only person who is basically saying "we're already too fucked to stop this") but I find him strong on other topics. Alot of people misunderstand his thoughts on nuclear power. Watch his damn JRE episode and get on the wagon.

Dude smokes Warren and should be Bernie's VP. Both would do great things together. The likes of Biden, Warren and Sanders are all very much stuck in the past (like a lot of the electorate let's be honest) and are fighting politics of yesterday. Sanders is the most preferable and I think Yang as VP or adviser at very least would help greatly if Bernie was to be President. The dude's UBI idea is Sanders' wet dream but he just isn't able to steal it now

I know this technically isnt a politics thing but I didnt want to create a whole thread about it. Weve got very few Amish in Canada so I dont know much about them besides their lack of use of technology. Reading this is- oufff. But I feel like I shouldve known better.
I read part of this and couldn't do the whole. Made me throw up in my mouth a whole lot. Horrifying. Try hard not be judgemental about other people's beliefs and lives, but can see a lot of things about the Amish life that makes things like this possible. And goes a long way to show that those who claim that sexual abuse and rape is down to how the women (girls) dress or act, or due to bad influences like TV. None of those are factors here and yet.... shitty people are going to do shitty things, especially when they are emotionally repressed and in scenarios where one gender essentially has fewer rights.

I've always had mixed feelings on the Amish.

On one hand, I can respect what they wish to do. On the other, it's silly how they can be above the law on so many issues (vaccination, health treatments, etc) due to the guise of religious freedom.
    Everything will surely be alright.

So the big gun rally happened in Virginia today.

No incidents of violence, and many of the protesters did show up armed and stayed behind the barricade at the capitol.

    Give 'em hell Virginia.

Help me understand why you would show up armed to what's supposed to be a "peaceful protest"

Because they are trying to show these idiots that have never been exposed to guns that there are millions of responsible gun owners out there.

Oh, and they are exercising their 2nd Amendment Constitutional Rights.

Right on, man. Kinda wild that other groups of protesters get villainized for peacfully kneeling on the ground but Hillbilly Jim can show up with an M4 and it's all good, but all that shit is lost on someone like me.

    Agree.

Today being MLK day in the US, I recommend re-reading his I Have A Dream speech: https://www.archives.gov/files/press...eam-speech.pdf

The whole speech is incredible. So articulate, easily understood, analogies that fit so well (dark vs light, good vs bad, the easy vs the hard). It's tragic what we've been left with, and unsurprising so little civic progress has been made.

I say all this, because he says, "We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. We must not allow our creative protests to degenerate into physical violence. Again and again we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force. The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the Negro community must not lead us to distrust all white people, for many of our white brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny."

Finally, MLK also mentioned this. This was on August 28th, 1963, and yet nothing as changed: "We can never be satisfied as long as the Negro is the victim of the unspeakable horrors of police brutality."

It's shameful how little we've done.

Celebrating MLK day is pretty much the emptiest gesture by this nation every year considering how little we've actually done to honor his legacy.

I mean, I've seen memes about things like that. "Congrats, didn't kill anyone today! "...But I never saw anyone use it as an actual argument for demanding praise.
    Everything will surely be alright.

I missed Dak's original post and just read you guys responses.

I thought to myself "Damn, these guys are really taking the piss out of someone".

I scrolled up and am utterly flabbergasted that Dak implied that we should praise these people for not firing away at anyone who tried to oppose their protest. Holy fucking jumping shitballs.

How to prove someone is responsible, and worthy of owning their weapons:

They didn't gun down a bunch of people.

    You deserve praise.

And anyone who wants to take it from you is threatening a civil war.

It's a god given right to own that!
