I recently re-watched the first four movies of the Hellraiser series.

    Hellraiser (1987) - 8.5/10
    Hellbound: Hellraiser II (1988) - 2/10
Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth (1992) - 3/10
    Hellraiser: Bloodline (1996) - 4.5/10

Granted, Hellraiser 1/2 were watched in 2016, but I've genuinely hated Hellraiser 2 since I first saw it. I suppose Hellraiser 1 is a possibility, but I'm going to go out of my way to avoid watching Hellraiser 2 again for many years. Hellraisers 5-8 have a possibility, I suppose.

You say that about every movie I haven't reviewed in Fright Fest. I swear, if I don't review Cult of Chucky on October 3rd, I'm going to hear a comment from you about how you're surprised that I haven't reviewed Cult of Chucky yet.

Well now I'm interested to see why you hated Hellraiser II so much. My overall request for this year is more 80's and 90's stuff in general, fuck all this gay millennial shit.

I mostly just find it to be a nonsensical mess. I've never understood why the movie receives any sort of praise. Back when I bought the DVD of Hellraiser 1, I can remember going out of my way to buy a single disc release of Hellraiser at Best Buy rather than spend the same amount or possibly slightly less for a dual sided disc of Hellraiser 1/2 back around 2002.

There are a lot of horror movies coming out in October. So there will be a lot of temptation to review several 2017 horror movies. Obviously, there's a ton of options for 80s movies to cover, although there's what, 10 good 90s horror movies?

I used to like it a lot but I remember thinking the last time I watched it how Vince Russo the story is. I definitely like it more than all of the Hellraiser movies that came out after it. I still think it would be fun to read your thoughts in a full review for it, even if you just trash it.

Re: Fright Fest 9: Never to be Certified Fresh

Alright, so since I'm a complete and utter coward I tend to avoid horror movies and threads like this as a whole, but I've tried to step out of my comfort zone over the past few months for some good scares, purely so I can have something to say when this year's Fright Fest pops up. Lo and behold, most of my suggestions have already been reviewed in the past Fright Fests, so here's a few that aren't on that list.

The Shining, Event Horizon, Green Room, or Coraline.

    Spoiler:

    I'm not good at signatures.

It has horror elements to it, but not too scary Disney Channel kids can't watch it. Almost at the level of the Halloween Town Films and Hocus Pocus film.

Twitches is Halloween themed but not remotely scary.

    Spoiler:

I would say yeah, but the Darkness that wants to kill the Twins have a Horror Element to it. You even see it during the film trying to get to them not only as babies, but as Teenagers.

Sorry bout that. Must have missed it at first glance. Surprised you didn't like Stake Land 2. What was it about it that you hated?

I found it frustrating from very early on. At the end of Stake Land, I kind of dug Peggy. There was some potential for her to be a fun character with her interactions with Martin. Then Stake Land 2 begins and she's automatically dead, reminding me of Alien 3's beginning, but it's even worse since we didn't even get a proper chance to get to know Peggy, unlike with Newt and Hicks. It quickly became a struggle to care about anyone in the film and the longer it went on, the more it felt like a ninety minute episode of the Walking Dead, except an episode where nothing happens.

I've become a big fan of the original Stake Land, but its sequel lacked the same tone.

You're a few days late, buddy. It won't be happening solely because I just re-watched it on Thursday. If you check out my movie log, you'll see that I rated it a 10/10 though. It's the greatest horror parody ever made and well worth watching additional times just to notice all of the little gags in the background.

If I don't get around to covering Train to Busan, I do want to make the special note that it was my #1 horror of 2016. Another 10/10 rating from me.
