I keep seeing people blaming Scotland for this. It's not Scotland's fault that Labour are irrelevant to us now and failed with their campaign and even if they had taken all of the Scottish seats, Conservatives would still win this election. This bullshit that it is Scotland/SNP's fault is exactly that, bullshit.

Having those Scottish seats would have made it a closer race but ultimately it wouldn't have made too much of a difference, but its 100% Labours fault that we lost those seats.

What has cost Labour just as much is people voting UKIP or not voting at all(because it apparently wouldn't make a difference) in the marginal areas.

Clegg resigns, his speech today was brilliant. Said that history will look back on the Lib Dems time in government positively (which it should be), and that he is proud of what the Lib Dems did for the country even if it came at the expense of the party itself.

History will look kindly on Clegg and the Lib Dems, especially if the Tory government we get in the next 5 years is awful. People will realise that the Lib Dems did a lot to rein in the Conservative government, and pushed through some good policies.

Well that's three leaders gone now. Wasn't sure if Ed Milliband would've done it but he has.

Given that Miliband, Clegg and Farage have all gone before lunch their next move should be obvious.

Unemployment rates soaring already in the first morning of the Tory government

Very happy that Farage has quit, I think a big part of UKIP's success in their vote increase is down to his presence

Just a 57.5% turnout in my constituency which is very disappointing in my opinion.

The Labour MP won easily as expected, the scary thing for me is that she's actually younger than me(only be a few weeks though).

A majority Tory government seemed inevitable after the exit polls last night. Shame really.

Not surprised to see Clegg go this year. Pretty much built up and then destroyed the lib dems After the last election and made pretty much everyone lose hope in the party. Happy to see Farage out as well. Just hope their next leader isn't as charismatic and the party begin to fade into the background. still pretty amazed that they got so many votes.

Labour cant blame Scotland at all. Remove our results and the Tories still have a majority. Pitiful. How and why the fuck are people stupid enough to vote for this shit?

It's disappointing and I too agree with this Shake, blaming Scotland is scraping at the barrel as far as Labour is concerned. If anything positive has come out of this though, Scotland has sent a direct message that we want change. I know a lot of people who normally vote labour in general elections but vote SNP in Scottish elections, I'm glad that the tune has changed that 'voting SNP doesn't matter in UK elections' as it clearly does. Scotland have sent a clear message that we are ready for change. Additionally, I also know of a lot of people who voted SNP for the first time after consistently voting labour in both general and Scottish elections.

I suspect it's an early attempt to spin the narrative for future elections (a "vote SNP, get Tory" mantra). Which as you say is absurd.

I was quite heartened by the Scottish vote. Nice to see the establishment rejected in favour of something more progressive. But the way it's being spun by media down here is very much that it's all solely about nationalism and independence.

The fact of the matter is we have denied Westmonster parties the right to rule up here. David Cameron cannot ignore us. We dont necessarily want another indyref but we want a say in our country at the very least.

    PLOT TWIST TIME

Just when you thought this election couldn't get anymore fucked. UKIP has rejected Farages resignation and he will stay on as their leader.

honestly didn't realise you can reject someone saying they wanna quit
