I’m really excited at this news. I’d love to re-watch all of 2005, especially The Summer of Punk, Joe/Kobashi and Final Battle 05. 2006 also had some great content, especially the whole ROH/CZW feud. I have all of these on DVD already, but the thought of having access to them on demand is worth however much a subscription costs.

Just to let you and others know...ROH 2002 is already up on Honor Club

    Its only 10.00 now

I also own all those dvds. Right now im rewatching 2010. The Steen vs Generico feud is amazing and still holds up. Same for Kings of Wrestling vs Briscoes. Hero and Claudio cuts some good promos ....mostly Hero. Aries run at this time was awesome too even though he was focused on a feud with Delirious and Daisey Haze.

As for the Free Enterprise show... Briscoes vs Flamita and Bandido is worth checking out.

In regards to that fourway with Flip, Bandido, Caristico and Black (I know I'm late), I'd have to say that was an excellent use of 15 minutes. Thoroughly entertaining, though it obviously isn't a "thinking man's match". It doesn't always have to be. Flip flying into the crowd was one of the crazier spots I've seen in a while. Talk about high risk.

More TV graps, watched the most recent ROH TV show.

Still mostly recap, although got two(!) full matches this week. Bouncers/Black & Johnson wasn't great but continued a decent angle at least.

Villains/Ingobnables was a great six man. Slightly confused how we got from RUSH being white hot and getting the world title to him being in a heel faction. Not sure what's going on with VE either as their clearly faces in this angle, then we get highlights of Flip Gordon being a heel after!

Get the title off PCO ASAP though. Dude looked lost out there at times, and even during entrances it's clear he's not even the biggest star in his faction, let alone on the roster.

    The match was pretty great.

Both teams are heels but id say VE are almost tweeners. I agree about PCO. They need to take the belt off him. but he is popular amongst fans. He gets reactions from fans at most shows.

Honestly at this time i focus on the tag division and its easily the best in the business.

Im watching CM Punk : The Second City Saint on HonorClub and it focuses on Punks rise. Plenty of great matches vs Raven and promos during that period including his epic "This is Straight Edge" promo in the stairwell with Cabana and Daffney.

Theres also dvds to VOD of Styles, Black and Steen

I also really enjoyed Shelley vs Haskins. Shelley is in the perfect role right now. Putting on great matches with guys like Haskins, Gresham and tomorrow..Rey Horus.

He's okay. Weird debut, understandable losing to Flip, but the post match beatdown didn't help. Still, always happy to have more personality in ROH

Reading that the ROH/NJPW War Of The World's tour is back this year, along with Rocky Romero working the Pure Title tournament. So that ROH/NJPW relationship seems to be repaired then. Just in time for ROH to get involved with the New Japan MSG show I wonder?

    If the shoe fits...wear it!!!

I think NJPW had to join up again. They arent ready to do US dates alone(tours) . they were charging high prices for their tickets and didnt do as well as they had hoped.

its a win win for both companies .

i just hope this time...ROH gets their own talent over in a big way

I do look at some of the cards for the New Japan US shows and wonder what they're playing at. Talk about half-arsing an expansion.

The US Dojo students will benefit from this big time if it means they're the ones working more ROH dates. And ROH gets more bodies which helps.

I just hope Marty is smarter than Delirious and doesn't completely bend over for New Japan like before.

That was the general perception...it was was half assed. plus they were charging like 200.00 for floor seats( i read this somewhere)

I also hope Marty does a better job with who goes over and who loses. i dont want to see NJPW standing tall at all times.

I wonder if we will see Moxley in an ROH ring because of this

Re: Ring Of Honor General Discussion Thread

I may end up going to the Toronto show if it's looking like a good card (Some Shingo / Takahashi / Lee / Gresham / Rush would be cool). NJPW just hasn't executed their U.S. expansion very well. They dont really put out exciting US cards. I think it's just bad booking and less lack of talent. They have 4 singles belts, and a floundering juniors division and a shitton of underutilized talent, they're not really making the best of it. At the same time that ROH needs to stand on its own from NJPW, NJPW needs to re-figure out their strategy because they cant depend on ROH forever imo and they definitely have the talent to stand on their own. Also obligatory criticism for not trying harder pre-AEW. Now it just feels like there isnt room or even a need of NJPW in the U.S. when there's a huge amount of options. WWE, AEW, ROH, Impact, MLW, Power!!!, and then companies like Beyond are doing their own thing now.

Maybe they should just treat it like a novelty act the way WWE treats having shows in Saudi or Australia or Japan. Toss in a big card, dont let the guys exert themselves to much but give us the big names. Cant see how they can properly expand in the U.S. now.
Todd Chavez: I'm deeply sad and nothing can make me happy.

Rush has just won the ROH title (hes too young, not gonna watch).

Doing that while there’s an AEW show going on seems dumb.
