Shaun of the Dead - One of my all time favourites, the greatest horror-comedy ever made . would anyone like a peanut?

Lawrence of Arabia - One of the greatest 'epic' movies ever made

Zulu - I haven't watched Don't look now, so Zulu takes it on a default, but Zulu is great anyway.

Trainspotting - The tightest one for me, I wrote King's Speech off as a film that wouldn't be my cup of tea, but really enjoyed it when I saw it. Trainspotting however is one of the iconic British films for me growing up, so it gets my vote.

Re: Best British Movie - Round 1

Shaun of the Dead - Simon Pegg, Nick Frost
    vs
Goldfinger - Sean Connery - One of the best bond films out there. Shawn is a great film ni it's own right but these are from two very different genres so it's not quite a fair battle.

Lawrence of Arabia - Peter O'Toole - One film everybody MUST see. A classic.
    vs
Withnail and I - Richard E Grant, Paul McGann

Don't Look Now - Donald Sutherland
    vs
Zulu - Stanley Baker - Again a classic.

The King's Speech - Colin Firth
    vs
Trainspotting - Ewan McGregor - Both very godo films but Trainspotting is without doubt a better film

Do we have to vote in every pairing or not?

Shaun of The Dead vs Goldfinger

    The King's Speach vs Trainspotting

If you haven't seen some of the films, it's ok to just vote on the pairings you have.

    Shaun of the Dead

    Withnail and I

The King's Speech (this one was the toughest choice, as I love Trainspotting)

Haven't seen either film from the other pair.

And yeah, I think it would be better if you didn't vote for one if you haven't seen the other. That's not really fair.
