    White Rose Championship Wrestling

    White Rose Championship Wrestling

White Rose Championship Wrestling is a wrestling organisation set up by wrestling fanatic and English entrepreneur, Simon Bedford. Simon Bedford, a huge wrestling fan, had an idea fior a weekly PPV modelled wrestling business. Bedford approached a number of businesses with his idea, offering a share of the business and prominent product placement in advertising on ring aprons, ringside, etc. in return for investment. With the buy in of several national UK businesses, Bedford approached the second largest digital TV provider in Virgin Media to carry the weekly PPV’s and air exclusively on virgin Media. While the audience is substantially less than other digital TV providers, a number of 10000 PPV buys a week (at a cost of £4.99 each) would see the company at least break even. With an audience of 2million homes, that’s roughly half a percent of the number of Virgin Media subscribers required to purchase the weekly PPV. Combined with an internet only show that lasts 30 minutes once per week to promote the product and increase interest in the weekly PPV’s, Bedford has devised an innovative business plan that has seen a UK wrestling show return to the TV screens in the UK for the first time in 25 years.

The business is run out of Leeds, Yorkshire, England. The symbol of Yorkshire is the white rose, and being a proud Yorkshireman, Simon decided to call the business White Rose Championship Wrestling. The weekly PPV, airing on Friday nights is simply called Friday Night Wrestling. A roster has been built – the best possible considering the money available and who was available at the time.

The quest for the White Rose Heavyweight Championship begins here…
Note – This is a fictional fed, where all characters are of my creation. The image bases used for wrestlers I found in the image pack for Grey Dog Software’s TEW 2005 from the cornellverse.

    Re: White Rose Championship Wrestling

    ROSTER

    Abigail Fox

Abigail Fox is the backstage roving reporter for White Rose Championship Wrestling. She has been rumoured to be romantically involved with owner and colour commentator Simon Bedford.

    Ace

Ace, a young man from Chicago, Illinois, is a professional poker player as well as a professional wrestler. He's incredibly talented, has youth on his side and is looking to forge a dual sports career. He comes to White Rose Championship Wrestling fresh out of a developmental league in London.

Finisher - Double Bluff (Double Underhook DDT)

    Adam Van Buerin

Adam Van Buerin, or AVB, is a high flier from Amsterdam. He is highly thought of on the independent scene. He regularly puts his body on the line for seemingly nothing, which makes him a hot fan favourite.

Finisher - Dutch Courage (Frog splash)

    Apocalypse

Apocalypse is a 7’2” rookie from Newcastle, England. He weighs in at over 500lbs. I don’t care what anyone says – whether a rookie or a veteran of the business a giant competitor of this size is a force to be reckoned with. White Rose Championship Wrestling is Apocalypse’s first professional wrestling company.

    Finisher – Apocalyptic Chokeslam

    Chris Jeffrey

24 year old Chris Jeffrey from Leeds, England is a tag team competitor, teaming with his older brother, Mark Jeffrey. The Jeffrey Brothers have floated around the UK wrestling scene for a few years, gaining notoriety as a high flying team, before being signed by Simon Bedford for WRCW.

Finisher – Jeffrey Dive (Chris and Mark take up places on opposing turnbuckles – Chris hits a frogsplash while Mark hits a legdrop

    Claude Beaumont

Claude Beaumont, from Montpellier, France is known for teaming with his younger brother, Eric as the Les Beaumont Immpecable. Claude is the stronger member of the team, using a ground and pound strategy on opponents. WRCW is his first assignment in the UK.

Finisher – Les Couteau (Claude lifts opponent onto shoulders, Eric leaps off turnbuckle and hits spinning kick

    Clint Reavis

Clint is known for teaming with Tim Read as part of America the Beautiful. They have been on the UK scene for a couple of years, having failed to find their feet in the saturated US market. Their gimmick is stereotypically American.

Finisher – Land of the Free (spike piledriver with assistance from Tim Read)

    Dixon Casablanca

Dixon Casablanca is a cocky upstart from Hollywood, CA,USA. Well, in his own mind at least. He is a well known independent wrestler from the US scene, and is taking a gamble with WRCW. He feels that it’s his time, having paid his dues.

Finisher – The Final Goodbye (Death Valley Driver)

    Duncan Clarke

Duncan Clarke is a powerful brawler from London, England and part of the tag team Towers of London with Mo Wilson. Duncan is young, and still learning. There is no doubting that Duncan will eventually be main event quality.

Finisher – London Bridge (Running powerslam)

    Eric Beaumont

Eric, from Montpellier is the younger brother of Les Beaumont Immpecable. Eric is the high flying aspect of the team
Finisher – Les Couteau (Claude lifts opponent onto shoulders, Eric leaps off turnbuckle and hits spinning kick

    Flying Fernando Leone

From Madrid, Spain, Fernando Leone started his career on the UK scene as a stereotypical matador. He’s now left the gimmick behind and is a high flying star, looking to make his name in WRCW.

Finisher – Catch Me if You Can (Flying cross body off top turnbuckle)

    Francois LeClerc

French powerhouse from Paris, Francois LeClerc has been a journeyman wrestler, never settling for a long time in anyone place. Francois is looking to make WRCW his permanent home.

Finisher – La Toture grande (Torture rack)

    The Doorman Frank Smith

Everybody hates a doorman (or bouncer) right? Frank Smith, from Nottingham, England is a bouncer. Essentially his character was an extension of his day job as a nightclub doorman, but it really caught on and he gets some real heat. He’s entering the twilight of his career having been on the UK scene for years with no real success.

Finisher – You’re Not Coming In (Double handed chokeslam)

    Hitsudo Matsuka

Hitsudo, a 33 year old veteran import from japan will bring some much needed Japanese technical excellence to the tag division that Simon Bedford is trying to establish. Hitsudo teams with Shunsuke Aluko.
Finisher - Matsuka Driver (Tiger piledriver)

    Jason Oddyssey

There is no argument that Jason, from Sheffield, England, is the marquee signing of WRCW. Jason is a legend on the UK circuit holding heavyweight titles all over the UK. He has also been to the US and made his name as a solid midcard technical wrestler. Back in the UK, he will be looking to claim the WRCW Heavyweight title.

Finisher – Dreamweaver (Axe kick e.g Booker T)

    Joe Thomas

Joe Thomas is the play by play commentator for WRCW.

    John McCowan

From Aberdeen, Scotland, John McCowan is part of a new breed of Scottish wrestlers, leaving behind the slow, lumbering style and embracing a high flying style that leaves fans breathless.

Finisher – McCowan Bomb (Senton Bomb)

    Lizzy

Lizzy is the valet and manager of William Prince

    “The Real Deal” Marc McCarthy

Marc McCarthy is from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and the latest in a long line of Canadian wrestlers that “can go”. Marc is well known on the Canadian circuit for his complete package style, and again is seen as a coup for WRCW.

Finisher – The Real Deal (arm trap neckbreaker – like William Regal)

    Mark Duke

Mark is a twenty year old from Reading, Berkshire. He is a complete rookie on the UK wrestling scene, making his debut for WRCW.

    Finisher - Unknown

    Mark Jeffrey

26 year old Mark Jeffrey from Leeds, England is a tag team competitor, teaming with his younger brother,Chris Jeffrey.

    Mo Wilson

Mo Wilson is 25 from London England. Recognised as the least skilful of the two Towers of London, but part of the package. It is thought that when the team eventually do split, Mo will fade into obscurity. Mo hears the criticism and is determined to prove everyone wrong.

    Finisher – Powerbomb

    “The Icon” Nick Green

Nick Green was signed at the same time as Marc McCarthy. Nick is a superb technical wrestler from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. While many see Nick as a “bonus” to the signing of Marc McCarthy, there are many who believe that given a run in the spotlight and the time to develop, Nick will surpass the feats seen by Marc and many others.

    Finisher – Green Stretch (Sharphooter)

    Rexx Calibur

Rexx Calibur is a monster. Pure and simple. A monster from Doncaster, England. Rexx is known for his high angle powerbomb which has ended the career s of several UK wrestlers. Despite this, his sheer size and mass (6’8” 322lbs) has seen him elevated to the main events of several UK wrestling promotions. It helps that he can talk too.

Finisher – Rexx drop (High angle powerbomb – jack knife)

    Shinsuke Aluko

Shinsuke is a 29 year old technician from Japan. Shinsuke teams with Hitsudo Matsuka in WRCW.

    Finisher – Camel Clutch

    Simon Bedford

Simon Bedford is the owner and colour commentator of White Rose Championship Wrestling. Simon set up White Rose out of his hometown of Leeds, England. The White Rose is the symbol of Yorkshire, where the business operates out of. He has vowed not to wrestle, but being at ringside and publicly stating that he is the owner will surely put him in the spotlight.

    Sylvain Dubois

Sylvain DuBois is a cocky wrestler from Lyon, France. Sylvain is a fantastic technical wrestler, learning his style from Catch Wrestling. He is a born leader and but believes he should have everything handed to him and is not so willing to be patient. In a wrestling company based out of Yorkshire where honour and virtue are still highly regarded, it is expected that he’ll get some real heat.

    Finisher – The Guillotine (stunner)

    The Highland Warrior

Masks sell in wrestling. The Highland Warrior is a high flying masked wrestler, brought in to fill out the lower card. Given the merchandise opportunities, and the fact that he is an attraction in Scotland, it is thought that he will be given a bit of a push.

Finisher – The Highland Spring (Huricanrana from top turnbuckle)

    The Odium

The Odium is the darkness in White Rose Championship Wrestling. There are definitely some supernatural forces at work when the Odium is about. He finishes off opponent with brutal and deliberate precision. He has been pushed to the moon because of his dark look and has won many heavyweight titles on the UK scene.

Finisher – The Pentacle (Much like a Razor’s edge)

    The Rockstar

In a time when gimmicks are dying, The Rockstar is the last of a dying breed. From Southampton, England, The Rockstar believes he’s living an 80s rockstar life.

Finisher – Rock n Roll (Flipping filedriver)

    Tim Read

Tim Read teams with Clint Reavis in America the Beautiful. Tim believes in starting all matches with The American National anthem. Sure that will get him over with a UK crowd.

Finisher – Land of the Free (Assits spike piledriver with Clint Reavis)

    Wayne Irvin

Wayne Irvin is a main event player and has been since the late nineties in the UK. Wayne was the leading light in the CWA and gained national fame when he took part in the second TV series of “I’m a Celebrity, get me out of here”. It gives WRCW some national exposure. Wayne has spent the last five years however trying to shake the stigma of being recognised for purely being in a reality TV series.

Finisher – Irvin Shock Drop (Evenflow DDT)

    William Prince

William Prince, from Windsor, Berkshire is, he believes, a member of the royal family His valet is Lizzy. He is a young, high flier with a reputation for short cutting his way to the top.

Finisher – The Royal Flush (Elbow from top turnbuckle)

Nice introduction, do you plan on using TWE to run the shows, or are you merely using it for the wrestler images?

    Best of luck.

    Thanks

I plan on just using the images. It's just a little too restrictive to do something genuinely creative, I find.

    Shows

Friday Night Wrestling is the flagship show of WRCW. The show airs live on Friday nights from a different live location each time. The fans in attendance are charged £15 per ticket, and get to see a two hour show, plus dark matches, which are taped and used later in the week for Wrestling Overload, the web exclusive show. The weekly PPV is carried by Virgin Media and costs cable users £4.99 per PPV. As it's live, and on PPV, there are no limitations on what the show can do. That's not to say that Simon Bedford will put out hardcore wrestling and T&A...he's a traditionalist, but as they say in wrestling, anything can happen. Friday Night Wrestling will be allowed to evolve into it's own unique, wrestling, entertainment product.

Wrestling Overload is a web exclusive show from White Rose Championship Wrestling. By giving away advertising space to businesses that has already been agreed (i.e. a thirty second advert at beginning of video stream, and in the middle) the show is economically feasible in order to attract viewers to pay for the weekly PPV on a Friday night. The show lasts thirty minutes, and contains pre-taped promos from competitors, one or two matches (taped pre or post weekly live PPV to save on arena costs). In order to ensure people tune in to keep up, the show will be used to further some mid card storylines. The show is released on a Monday, and is available via the WRCW website until the Friday Night Wrestling PPV.

I completely agree on that point. I'll be doing my best to keep up with this one as it looks like it could develop into something.

    Re: White Rose Championship Wrestling

An open letter from White Rose Championship Wrestling Majority Stakeholder, Simon Bedford
Published in daily national newspapers, The Sun, The Daily Mirror and the Daily Star and available online at White Rose Online on Monday December 26th 2011

    Dear Reader

Firstly, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas.

Secondly, please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Simon Bedford, and I am the Majority stakeholder in White Rose Championship Wrestling.

I'm sure you have heard by now through our aggressive online, TV and media advertising (and if not, where have you been for the last two months), British wrestling is making a triumphant comeback to British television. British Wrestling has not aired for over twenty five years. The reason for this is simple. An American monopoly on wrestling.

Since the last wrestling show aired on British TV, the British wrestling scene has continued under an unintentional veil of secrecy. BSkyB, due to it's deal with a certain American brand could not (and would not) air British wrestling. Terrestrial channels, due to the route that American wrestling decided to take with it's extreme violence and sexual imagery, would not touch a wrestling product for fear of being reported to a broadcasting standards agency. Despite all this the British wrestling scene has thrived and in recent years undergone a real resurgence. Sky TV would have you believe that only a certain brand, or certain wrestlers are capable being charismatic showmen. Sky TV would have you believe that only the Americans can be athletic and agile. Sky TV would have you believe there is only one company out there.

White Rose Championship Wrestling aims to change that. We are going to bring you the best of British, every Friday night on Virgin Media. We'll also bring you a cast of international stars to boot. Join Jason Oddyssey this Friday as he makes his triumphant return to the British wrestling scene after conquering America. Find out what is powering the supernatural star, The Odium. See the very best in tag team wrestling. We've got a proverbial who's who of the British wrestling scene - Rexx Calibur, Wayne Irvin, Dixon Casablanca, Sylvain DuBois, Marc McCarthy and more. Watch as we crown our first Television champion this Friday, and start the search for the first ever White Rose Heavyweight Champion.

Furthermore, I invite you to join us this week for free, thanks to Virgin Media. Consider that our Christmas present to you.

We hope you'll join us, as we prove to you that the British have still got it.

    Merry Christmas

    Simon Bedford
Majority Stakeholder, White Rose Championship Wrestling

*Friday Night Wrestling airs every Friday on PPV on Virgin Media. Friday Night Wrestling will air on Friday 30th January free and unscrambled on Virgin Media channel 804. Further Friday Night Wrestling airs weekly on Virgin Media channel 804, and is on a pay per view basis, charged at £4.99 per show.

The above was a paid for advertisement, Virgin Media, in an attempt to further promote the first ever WRCW event have paid for the first event and offering it free in an attempt to get viewers hooked from the outset. The show will air, unscrambled on Virgin media PPV, and will remain on their on demand service for people to download and sample.

Some interesting characters. Not using TEW to run the shows is a cool choice, much better that way. Wayne Irvin is totally Chris Hero! Lol, good luck with this!

    Re: White Rose Championship Wrestling

Virgin Media and Phones4U presents, live from Sheffield, England

The show opens with Kasabian’s Empire and we cut The Octagon in Sheffield - The Octagon is an octagonal shaped building connected to Sheffield University – packed to the rafters with 1000 people in attendance, surrounding the 20 x 20 ring in the centre. It’s a quality production, with a simple entrance aisle with a TV screen above the entrance. The camera zooms around ringside, focussing on the fans, many of whom don’t look like they know what’s going on. Free tickets anyone?

There’s someone stood in the ring. It’s Majority Stakeholder, Simon Bedford. The music fades out and he extends his arms out trying to calm the crowd. Simon is wearing a headset mic, allowing both hands free. The ring is covered with a red carpet, and in the centre of the ring is a table, with what looks like a tombola.

Simon Bedford: Hello and welcome, ladies and gentlemen to the very first White Rose Championship Wrestling live event, coming to you LIVE from Sheffield!

Lukewarm response from the fans in attendance for the cheap pop! It’s soon apparent that Simon is quite the charismatic showman.

Simon Bedford: Thanks to Virgin Media and Phones4u, tonight’s Friday Night Wrestling is being shown live…and free…across the UK. Wrestling back on British television for the first time in twenty five years. How about that ladies and gentlemen?

Another small cheer ripples through the crowd.

Simon Bedford: I’m Simon Bedford, Majority Stakeholder in White Rose Championship Wrestling. Tonight, White Rose brings to you some of the Great British talent that has been performing while American companies monopolise the wrestling industry. We’re here to show you that we can do it too…and we can do it better. WRCW is all about showcasing talent and making entertainment….

A lone voice in the crowd shouts “get on with it”. Followed by laughter. Bedford clears his throat almost embarrassed by the interruption.

Simon Bedford: Indeed.*nervous laugh* Let me just tell you first what we have in store for you tonight…we’ll crown the very first sportsdirect.com TV champion – a belt that must be defended each and every week on Friday Night Wrestling. And we’ll start the search for the very first White Rose Heavyweight champion, as I draw the brackets for an eight man tournament, including Rexx Calibur, The Odium, Wayne Irvin and in his UK homecoming Jason Oddys……

Simon Bedford is interrupted by what can only be described as stereotypically French music. This immediately illicits booing from the home crowd. A well-dressed man makes his way down to the ring down the aisle, with a microphone in hand. His music fades. Simon Bedford gives him a confused stare.

Simon Bedford: Ah, erm…okay. Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome Sylvain DuBois to White Rose.

    BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Simon Bedford: What brings you to the ring now, Mr DuBois?

Sylvain raises the microphone to his mouth in the midst of the boos.

Sylvain DuBois: Bonjour Monsieur Bedford. First, I have come to ze ring tonight to save zis very first…what is it you say? Segment. Right now across Grand Bretagne, families are switching ze television channels out of boredom. I am here to add ze glamour and ze much needed star power. Second…I have come to ze ring tonight day to find out who my opponent will be in ze ‘eavyweight championship tournament.

Simon Bedford smiles and waves his hand towards the tombola table.

Simon Bedford: Well…thank you Mr DuBois for joining us. As you can see, the tombola is here for the draw. Inside the tombola are balls numbered to one eight, with each number representing a competitor.

Simon Bedford claps his hands together, and above the entrance, a large HD screen instantly flicks into life, showing Simon and Sylvain stood in the ring, with graphics superimposed onto the left hand side showing which number represents the competitors in the draw.

    1 – Apocalypse
    2 – Jason Oddyssey
    3 – Marc McCarthy
    4 – Nick Green
    5 – The Odium
    6 – Rexx Calibur
    7 – Sylvain DuBois
    8 – Wayne Irvin

Simon Bedford: Each and every competitor will be drawn from the tombola and placed into the draw, with the first round of matches taking place tonight. The winners will advance to the semi-finals next week.

Sylvain DuBois: Monsieur Bedford, as ze fat little English peasant shouted before I saved ze segment, please can we just get on wiz it

    BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Simon Bedford: Very well Mr. DuBois...and as you are joining us, you can assist in the draw. I will draw the first competitor, and you will draw the second in each match.

Bedford rolls the tombola, mixing the eight balls together in the container. Simon stops and draws the first number out. Showing it to the camera, it’s a number 5.

Simon Bedford: It’s number five – the supernatural thriller – THE ODIUM!!!

DuBois steps forward and picks out a ball. He shows it to the camera. It’s the number 1.

Simon Bedford: It’s number one – the seven foot two inch giant – APOCALYPSE!!!!!

DuBois makes a show of relief, wiping his brow as Simon reaches back into the tombola. Bedford pulls out a number 6.

Simon Bedford: It’s number six – REXX CALIBURRRRR!!!

A small cheer goes up at the back of the impatient crowd. DuBois steps forward tentatively, reaches into the tombola and draws out the number 8.

Simon Bedford: Number eight..that’s WAYYYYYNE IRRRVIN!!!

This time, a bigger cheer goes up. Simon Bedford, buouyed by the response reaches in and draws out number 7.

Simon Bedford: Number seven is you…number seven…SYLVAIN DUBOIS!!!!

Simon Bedford turns away from the tombola and starts to play to the crowd.

Simon Bedford: Who wants to see who Mr. DuBois will draw in the tournament…who wants to see Mr. Dubois choose his own fate??

While Bedford is playing to the crowd, Sylvain DuBois reaches into the tombola and picks out a number. It’s the number 2. The camera focuses in on it, showing Sylvain DuBois staring in fear at the number as he realises who it represents. The fans begin to understand as the number 2 is focussed on and shown on the big screen. DuBois shakes his head in fear. The fans are starting to cheer as they realise that DuBois will be facing the hotly anticipated Jason Oddyssey. Simon Bedford wrongly believes that the increased cheers are for him and he continues to get the crowd worked up.

Simon Bedford: Are you ready??? I said are you ready to find out?

Sylvain DuBois throws the number back into the tombola and pulls out another ball.

Sylvain DuBois: Quatre….I mean, eet ees a four.

Bedford turns around dismayed as Sylvain interrupts him building the crowd up. The crowd let out a lengthy boo.

Simon Bedford: Number four…that’s erm…that’s “The Icon” NICK…GREEEEEN!

    BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Sylvain smiles an evil looking smile, clearly happy with his draw. Simon reaches back into the tombola and draws the number 2.

Simon Bedford: Number two…making his return to the UK after a hugely successful stint in the USA…JASON…..ODDYSSEYYYYY

A mixture of boos and cheers as the fans know that they should have been seeing DuBois vs Oddyssey. Sylvain smiles as he pulls out the final number, 3.

Simon Bedford: And that’s number three – the “Real Deal” MARC…McCARTHYYYYYY. That concludes the draw. Thank you for your help Mr. DuBois.

DuBois exits the ring as a sponsored message for Phones4U screens.

Play by play commentator Joe Thomas welcomes us to ringside for the opening match of Friday Night Wrestling for White Rose Championship Wrestling. Joe Thomas is joined by Majority Shareholder and colour commentator, Simon Bedford.

    vs
America the Beautiful vs The Jeffreys

American tag team Clint Reavis and Tim Read make their way to the ring, musicless. Clint grabs the microphone and proclaims how excited he is to be in a White Rose ring in a slow, Texas drawl. Tim takes the microphone, and says they’d like to, if they could, bring a little piece of America to this small town in Yorkshire, which illicits Boos from the crowd. Tim and Clint begin to sing the American National Anthem, proud and true. The fans boo louder, almost drowning out the PA system. As soon as they finish, The Jeffrey’s music hits over the PA system and the high flying brothers from Yorkshire run to the ring to cheers from the crowd.

The bell rings and Chris Jeffrey and Clint Reavis kick us off. The Jeffreys dictate the pace of the match and tag in and out quickly, keeping up the speed, which they know on their day any team will struggle to keep up with. A couple of quick pin attempts are unsuccessful. Their rhythm is broken though when Mark Jeffrey comes off the top and misses a cross body. Tim Read and Clint Reavis isolate Mark Jeffrey in their half of the ring, hitting a variety of double team manoeuvres. Clint in particular impresses with a spinning spinebuster and a gorilla press slam. Mark eventually gets across the ring, cheered on by the fans and hits the hot tag. Chris Jeffrey jumps over the top rope and hits a couple of clotheslines on both Clint and Tim. Chris Jeffrey hits a spinning heel kick on Tim Read and then a jumping huricanrana on legal man, Clint Reavis. The referee counts a two count as Tim Read breaks up the pin attempt. Tim whips Chris to the ropes and hits a big boot to Chris’ face. Read looks to the ropes and leans back to gain some momentum……however Mark Jeffrey, who is recovering gets to his feet and pulls the top rope down and Tim Read tumbles back out of the ring, landing in a heap at ringside. Back in the ring, Chris Jeffrey gets to his feet as does Clint Reavis. Clint walks into a jumping spinning DDT. Chris climbs the turnbuckle and ushers mark up the turnbuckle opposite. The Jeffreys point to the fans who cheer as Mark hits a leg drop and Chris hits a frogsplash – the Jeffrey Dive. Chris takes the pinfall victory.

Six Man Elimination Match for the Sportsdirect.com Television Title

The Highland Warrior vs The Rockstar vs William Prince vs Flying Fernando Leone vs Dixon Casablanca vs Francois LeClerc
Each of the competitors makes their way out to the ring individually. All except William Prince, who enters with his beautiful valet, Lizzy The competitors are all in the ring at the same time, and are unsure who is going to start. The referee sends William Prince, Fernando Leone, Dixon Casablanca and The Highland Warrior to separate corners, and they step outside the ring, awaiting the tag in or elimination. Francois LeClerc and The Rockstar are the two guys going to start us off here. The Rockstar, with his flamboyant threads is eager to get going. He plays a bit of air guitar for the fans benefit, turns around, runs at Francois LeClerc and eats a big boot for his troubles. The Rockstar is immediately eliminated by Francois Leclerc.

Fernando Leone quickly tries to take advantage of a possibly distracted leClerc by leaping onto the top rope and attempting a springboard high cross body. LeClerc catches the Spanish high flier and hits a fallaway slam. LeClerc lifts Fernando onto his shoulders and locks in a torture rack, and leone submits.

LeClerc looks around the ring at the three remaining competitors. William Pricnce and Dixon Casablanca look like they want nothing to do with the huge Frenchman. The Highland Warrior takes his cue and steps into the ring. The masked Scotsman ducks clothesline attempts and hits a couple of dropkicks, keeping LeClerc off balance. The Highland Warrior goes for a flying cross body and is caught. However as LeClerc looks like he is going to decimate the mased Scotsman with another fallaway slam, both William Prince and Dixon Casablanca enter the ring and hit a dropkick to Highand warriors back, sending Francois tumbling backwards. The referee begins his count, and to prevent a kickout, both Dixon and William grab a leg each to prevent the kickout. Francois is angry but the referee sends him to the back as The Highland Warrior and Dixon Casablanca continue the fight in the ring.

The Highland warrior’s pace is electric and Casablanca soon tags in William Prince. William and the Highland Warrior come close to eliminating each other with near falls. The Highland Warrior hits Prince with a springboard high leg clothesline, and Prince goes to tag Dixon back in, but Casablanca steps back off the apron. The Highland Warrior eliminates William Prince with a spinning DDT, leaving Dixon Casablance and The Warrior.

The Warrior and Dixon fight back and forth. Dixon impresses with technical expertise, a few chain wresting moves. The Highland Warrior manages to take Casablanca down with a suplex and goes to the top turnbuckle. He signals for the highland spring, a jumping huricanrana from the top turnbuckle. Dixon catches The Highland warrior, and for a moment, it looks like it’s going to be a huge powerbomb. The Warrior however manages to roll over the back and down, rolling Dixon up into a pin attempt…Dixon however rolls straight through and to his feet leaving the Highland warrior on his back, shoulders down. Dixon quickly covers and lifts his feet onto the ropes for leverage and wins the match and the Sportsdirect.com TV title in the process.

The fans boo as the referee lifts Dixon’s arm and hands him the TV title

Friday Night Wrestling returns and the camera is backstage with the roving reporter, Abigail Fox.

Abigail Fox: Hi, I’m Abigail Fox, backstage for White Rose Championship Wrestling at Friday Night Wrestling. I’m joined at this time by the first ever Sportsdirect.com Television Champion, Dixon Casablanca.

Dixon walks into shot, flashing a movie star smile, with the TV title belt over his shoulder.

Abigail Fox: Dixon, how does it feel to be the first Sportsdirect.com TV champion.

Dixon Casablanca: Well Abigail, first of all, if you think I’m going to pander to the sponsors and suits and refer to this title with it’s “full name” you can think again.

    Abigail Fox: But…

Dixon Casablanca: Shut up. I’m a movie star. I don’t have to do what you, Simon Bedford or any of the worthless, ordinary people here tonight tell me.

    BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Dixon Casablanca: Boo me all you want. Do you think I care? The only thing that matters to me is ME! The fact of the matter is, I am the TV champion. I am guaranteed exposure each and every single week while I hold this title. And trust me, I am not going to lose this belt anytime soon. See you next week. If anyone wants me, I’ll be in my trailer.

Dixon walks off, leaving Abigail Fox alone with microphone in hand.

Abigail Fox: Well, it looks like the Sportsdirect.com TV title has gone Hollywood. Back to Simon Bedford, and first, Joe Thomas at ringside.

    vs
Towers of London vs Les Beaumont Impeccable

Les Beaumont Impeccable enter the ring and await the Towers of London. The Towers, Duncan Clarke and Mo Wilson are both huge, vastly outweighing Les Beaumont Impeccable. The French brothers look to go pacy, but Duncan Clarke catches Eric with a powerful bodyslam and follows with a standing elbow drop. Claude gets into the match and quickens the pace hitting a bulldog on Mo Wilson. Les Beaumont Impeccable isolate Mo Wilson with fast moves and quick tags, until Mo makes the tag to Duncan Clarke. Duncan hits a big boot to Claude followed by a DDt to Eric when Eric gets into the ring. Duncan finishes Eric off cleanly with his running powerslam, London Bridge.

    Match Time – 5:45
The camera cuts backstage to the parking lot of the arena. It’s quiet, but the peace is shattered by the doors to the arena blasting open. Joe Thomas and Simon Bedford observe.

Joe Thomas: What’s going on Mr. Bedford?

Simon Bedford: I’m not quite sure yet….

Two Japanese men, dressed in suits are seen to be leaving, They are chattering away in Japanese to each other, and sound angry.

Joe Thomas: That’s Hitsudo Matsuka and Shinsuke Aluko…

Simon Bedford: Yeahhhhh…they were unhappy earlier they weren’t booked to wrestle tonight.

Joe Thomas: Well, you can’t please everyone Mr. Bedford.

Simon sighs as Hitsudo and Shinsuke open the boot of a car, throw their bags in and proceed to leave the event.

    vs

    Rexx Calibur vs Wayne Irvin

Rexx Calibur enters the ring to boos. Rexx is a monster. Wayne Irvin, the reality TV star makes his way to the ring to cheers as fans seem to recognise him. He is vastly outsized by Rexx Calibur though. Wayne dictates the pace early on, trying to work on the big mans legs with leg chop blocks. Wayne is caught with a massive backbreaker and Rexx is in control. Calibur throws Wayne Irvin into a turnbuckle and hits some overhand chops to Wayne’s chest. Irvin’s chest goes bright red from the chops. Rexx Calibur whips Irvin across the ring into a turnbuckle hard, and Irvin falls out clutching his back.

The referee looks to ask Irvin how he is, but Calibur pushes the referee out of the way. Calibur throws Irvin to the outside and whips him into the steel ring steps. Calibur lifts Irvin above his head in a gorilla press and drops him chest first over the security barricade. Rexx rolls Wayne back into the ring as the crowd start a half hearted “Let’s go Irvin” chant. Rexx smiles a sadistic smile as he lifts Wayne up to his feet and hits a spinebuster. The crowd groan as rexx goes for a cocky, one foot pin attempt for a two count.

The crowd continue to get behind Wayne Irvin and boo Rexx Calibur. Calibur starts chuntering away to the fans as Wayne gets to his feet. Rexx Calibur turns around into a small package, which the referee counts the 1-2-3! Wayne Irvin wins and exits the ring as the fans go wild.

    Match time – 8:13
Rexx Calibur is furious, and points at the referee, almost blaming the referee for his loss. Rexx hits the referee with his Rexx drop high angle powerbomb.

Joe Thomas: NOOOO! What did the referee do? Get some paramedics out here pronto.

Rexx Calibur lets out a tremendous, beast like roar.

Simon Bedford: I am telling you now Joe, Rexx Calibur will be getting a financial penalty for those actions right there.

    BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Paramedics make their way out to the ring to tend to the referee as Rexx leaves the ring too more boos from the crowd. The camera cuts backstage to Abigail Fox.

Abigail Fox: Hi…I’m Abigail Fox, and I am here with The Odium as I try and get a word with him in advance of his match with the largest athlete in the world later tonight. Odium, how are you feeling?

Abigail thrusts the microphone into the face of the mysterious enigma. The Odium bows his hooded head.

    The Odium: ……

    Abigail looks worried.

Abigail Fox: Do you have a gameplan? He’s over 7’2” tall.

The microphone again goes back to The Odium. The Odium looks up at the camera, and his eyes have rolled back into his head. Abigail jumps back as The Odium walks off slowly.

Abigail Fox: Simon, I have a feeling I’m not being paid enough.

The camera cuts back to ringside, and Simon Bedford looks like a man defeated as he is shaking his head at the past five minutes.

Joe Thomas: Join us after these messages for the next quarter final match in the White Rose Heavyweight Championship tournament.

Friday Night Wrestling is interrupted by commercial sponsors.

White Rose Heavyweight Championship Quarter final #2

    vs

“The Icon” Nick Green vs Sylvain duBois

“The Icon” Nick Green enters to a lukewarm reception. Sylvain duBois is booed by the fans the minute his music hits. The Frenchman makes his way out, cocky and slow. Sylvain slides into the ring. The referee calls for the bell, and the match begins. It’s clear from the outset this is going to be a wrestling clinic.

No man gains a real advantage. The crowd appreciates the back and forth and gives an applause in the break between chains. Sylvain can’t help himself though and hits an eye rake to Nick Green Sylvain takes control and whips Nick into the turnbuckle Nick clutches his arm and duBois begins to focus on the arm duBois continues to dictate the pace and work on the arm, hitting a single arm DDT and holding in a painful armbar. Nick gets to the ropes and the referee asks sylvain to break the hold. The hold is broken and Nick goes for a clothesline. Sylvain goes down, but the move appeared to do more damage to Green’s arm.

Sylvain duBois is back on the offensive and hits a side Russian leg sweep to Nick Green. We see a shoulderbreaker too and a close pin attempt from Sylvain. The Frenchman perhaps a little too confident as he attempts a superplex put is pushed off the top turnbuckle into the ring. Nick green hits a huge missile dropkick and then takes the fight to Sylvain. Green hits a german suplex and a DDT for a couple of close pinfalls. Green has Sylvain where he wants him and attempts a sharpshooter that he calls the Green stretch…but with the injured left arm, he can’t lock it in fully. duBois screams in pain, but as Green hasn’t got it locked in he reaches the ropes. The referee tellsGreen to break the hold. The hold is broken, and Green lifts duBois for a suplex. Green can’t keep it though and Sylvain floats over, spins Nick around and hits the Guillotine (a stunner).

Sylvain picks up the victory and advances to the sem-finals.

    Match time – 13:39
Back at ringside, Joe Thomas and Simon Bedford recap the night so far.

White Rose Heavyweight Championship Quarter final #3

    vs

    Apocalypse vs The Odium

Apocalypse makes his way to the ring, slowly. He’s the fun loving, Geordie giant. He makes his way into the ring, over the top rope. The fans warm to him immediately. The lights dim as he is in the ring and The Odium makes his way out, slowly, to no music.

Joe Thomas: This is eerie. So far, The Odium has not said a word.

Simon Bedford: I know Joe, he’s sending shivers down my spine.

The Odium continues his walk to the ring.

Joe Thomas: One thing I need to know, Mr. Bedford. If he doesn’t speak, how did you sign him?

Simon Bedford: I er….I’ve got to be honest. I don’t remember signing him. He came to me in my office three weeks ago, didn’t say a word, and the next thing I know, he’s left the office and I have a contract for him and an overwhelming urge for black pudding

    Joe Thomas: Really….

Simon Bedford: The contract was signed in red ink…I hope it was red ink….

The Odium gets to the ring and stops at ringside. Staring up at Apocalypse, he lifts his white hood and crosses his arms. He bows his head. Apocalypse looks confused, and starts to remonstrate with the referee.

Joe Thomas: What’s going on, Mr. Bedford?

    Simon Bedford: I don’t know…but I don’t like it one bit Joe.

The Odium lifts both arms and the world’s largest athlete stops remonstrating with the referee, and stops. He has a far away look in his eyes. The Odium pulls his hood down and slides into the ring. The referee rings the bell and Apocalypse doesn’t move. The Odium removes his hooded cloak and a pentacle from around his neck, while Apocalypse just stands still. The Odium makes a pushing motion with both hands and Apocalypse falls backwards like a tree.

    Joe Thomas: What the hell?

    Simon Bedford: I….er……

The Odium covers Apocalypse and a confused referee counts to three. The Odium advances to the semi-finals. The odium gets to his feet and uses his hands to make a rising motion. Apocalypse gets to his feet.

    Simon Bedford He’s in…some sort of….trance.

Joe Thomas: This isn’t right Mr. Bedford. Apocalypse has been screwed.

Simon Bedford: I don’t think apocalypse cares right now.

The Odium gestures towards his cloak and pentacle. Apocalypse simply goes over to the corner, gets them and drapes the cloak around The Odium. The Odium leaves, and apocalypse follows him.

Joe Thomas: I’m not sure what we’ve just seen here Mr. Bedford.

Marc McCarthy is interrupted by a figure walking in off screen. It’s none other than Jason Oddyssey, The fans go wild as the camera focuses. Jason begins to talk in his smooth “Queens English” .

    Jason Oddyssey: Well, hello Marc.

    Marc and Jason shake hands.

Jason Oddyssey: Welcome to the UK…welcome to Sheffield…welcome…to White Rose Championship Wrestling

Marc McCarthy: Thank you for the warm welcome. But as I was saying before you interrupted…

Jason Oddyssey As you were saying…you’ve studied me, you watched me for years, and you think you have what it takes to get the job done. I’ve heard the same story for years Marc…but nobody…NOBODY has come close to getting the job done. The fact is, I am the best. Nobody can live with me. When I bring it, I bring it. But let me tell you something Marc. I’ve watched you for years now, and you are the next big thing. Long after I’m gone, you will be winning titles. You will be the man…the BEST. But not right now. Because right now, I am still the best.

    Marc McCarthy: Is that so?

Jason Oddyssey: Yes, that is so.

Marc McCarthy: Well tonight, I am going to bring it. Bring it like it’s never been brought to you before. May the best man win.

Marc McCarthy extends his hand. Jason looks down and embraces it.

Jason Oddyssey: I hope you do bring it. And we’ll bring the roof down.

“The Real Deal” Marc McCarthy vs Jason Oddyssey

Marc McCarthy has the backing of the crowd as this face vs face encounter is ready to kick off. Oddyssey makes his way out to the ring and the fans are screaming for him. The referee rings the bell and we are ready to go.

Oddyssey and McCarthy trade back and forth blows with each other. McCarthy whips Jason to the ropes, and Oddyssey comes back and hits a flying forearm smash. Oddyssey gets up and whips McCarthy to the turnbuckle. He follows up with a clothesline in the turnbuckle. Jason follows with a suplex and floats over to a pin, and gets just a one count from the referee.

McCarthy reverses a headlock into a backdrop and takes over control of the match. Marc tries to keep the pressure on Jason with some kicks to sides and legs. Oddyssey reverses a whip and tries for a backdrop, but Marc telegraphs it and rolls over the back. McCarthy hits a reverse DDT for a close call. McCarthy keeps on and hits a springboard suplex (he bounces Oddyssey’s midsection off the top rope, using the momentum to carry him over). Marc McCarthy hits a flying elbow from the second turnbuckle for a two count.

McCarthy drags Jason up and attempts a whip to the ropes. Jason comes back, ducks a clothesline and then launches into a flying lariat. Jason gets back to his feet and lifts McCarthy. He spins him round and hits an atomic drop into a high angle backdrop, Jason then hits a gut wrench powerbomb for a close two count. Jason whips Marc, and stands his ground. When The real deal comes back, Oddyssey shifts to the left and locks in a sleeper hold. McCarthy reverses into a sit out sidewinder powerbomb. 1…2…

    No

    McCarthy hits a piledriver.

    1…

    2….

    2.5……….

    Odyssey gets the shoulder up.

Marc McCarthy twists Oddyssey’s arm and goes for an arm trap neckbreaker (The Real Deal). Oddyssey reverses into a backslide pin.

    1……

    2……..

    3..??? NO!

Marc gets the shoulder up again. Jason gets up, whips McCarthy to the ropes. McCarthy baseball slides through Oddyssey’s legs, gets up and locks in a german suplex. Instead of going for the pin, Marc looks at the top turnbuckle and climbs up. He points at the fans and goes for a diving headbutt….

….but misses as Oddyssey rolls out of the way! Oddyssey takes his time as McCarthy gets up slowly. Jason hits a scissor kick…the Dreamweaver and goes for a pin.

    1….

    2…

Jason Oddyssey wins. The fans go mental Oddyssey has his arm raised by the referee as the fans celebrate.

White Rose Championship Wrestling presents...by download only

Joe Thomas welcomes us to Wrestling Overload, the weekly, free download magazine format show from White Rose Championship Wrestling
    vs
Mark Duke vs William Prince w/ Lizzy

Mark Duke, the young rookie faced William Prince in a one on one encounter. Mark Duke was impressive in his debut, and had Prince worried on a couple of near falls. Prince’s valet, Lizzy became involved in the match and distracted the referee while William hit a low blow on Duke and then picked up a tainted victory when he hit his driving elbow from the top turnbuckle, the Royal Flush.
Calibur Promises Vengeance As He Pays The Price

Rexx Calibur has promised revenge to Wayne Irvin for defeating him in the quarter finals of the White Rose Heavyweight Championship tournament. Wayne picked up a victory via a schoolboy roll up and hightailed it out of the ring on Friday Night Wrestling, leaving a furious Rexx Calibur to take his anger out on the match official. Rexx Calibur has warned Wayne Irvin that this coming Friday Night Wrestling will be Irvin’s last.

Simon Bedford, owner of White Rose Championship Wrestling has intervened though. Mr. Bedford has fined Rexx Calibur two weeks salary for striking a match official deliberately and warned Calibur of his future conduct. Simon Bedford has also publicly stated that should Rexx Calibur pursue Wayne Irvin on Friday Night Wrestling, he will, as per his contract, be released without severance pay due.

Apocalypse Not Seen Since Friday Night Wrestling

The Odium advanced in the White Rose Heavyweight Championship tournament by defeating the world’s largest athlete, Apocalypse. Apocalypse was the apparent victim of some sort of black magic or voodoo, as The Odium seemed to go into a catatonic state, chanting incantations. Apocalypse then seemed to go into a trance, his actions controlled by The Odium.

Apocalypse has not been seen since Friday Night Wrestling. His whereabouts are unknown. Therefore, he will not be booked for this weeks live show.
    vs

Hitsudo Matsuka and Shinsuke Aluko vs The Rockstar and John McCowan

Matsuda and Aluko made their in ring debut against the high flying thrown together team of The Rockstar and Scotsman John McCowan. Hitsudo and Aluko appeared to be controlling the match, isolating McCowan before the camera feed went down. Joe Thomas apologised profusely for the loss of feed. The results of the match will be given at a later date.
Oddyssey and McCarthy Put on Wrestling Clinic

Following a backstage confrontation where each man wished each other well, Jason Oddyssey and “The Real Deal” Marc McCarthy put on a beautiful wrestling match, with Jason Oddyssey picking up a clean and impressive victory. Marc McCarthy will be buoyed with a performance, keeping up until the last with the self-proclaimed “Best”.
In the studio, Joe Thomas is joined by Abigail Fox as they prepare for the semi-final draw of the White Rose Heavyweight Championship tournament. The numbers as they went into the tombola were

    1 – Jason Oddyssey
    2 – The Odium
    3 – Sylvain duBois
    4 – Wayne Irvin

Abigail Fox draws the first number, taking a number three. Sylvain duBois.

The number picked by Joe Thomas is number one, Jason Oddyssey. Joe comments that this was the very match that Sylvain duBois attempted to avoid on Friday Night Wrestling by fixing the draw.

Abigail draws out the number four, Wayne Irvin.

Joe Thomas draws out the number two, The Odium. Abigail wonders if Wayne Irvin can avoid the same fate as Apocalypse.

White Rose Heavyweight Championship tournament Draw

    Sylvain duBois vs Jason Oddyssey
    Wayne Irvin vs The Odium

    vs

“The Real Deal” Marc McCarthy vs “The Doorman” Frank Smith

The final segment of the first Wrestling Overload is a match pitting Marc McCarthy against the big doorman from Nottingham, England. This match was a clash of styles as Smith brawled with McCarthy, and Mark tried to compete on a technical level. Marc showed his versatility as he was drawn into the brawl. McCarthy defeated The Doorman with The Real Deal neckbreaker.

    Re: White Rose Championship Wrestling

Virgin Media and Phones4U presents, live from Leeds, England
    Friday 6th January

The show opens with Kasabian’s Empire and we cut to Leeds University in Leeds. The auditorium has approximately 500 people in attendance, surrounding the 20 x 20 ring in the centre. The camera cuts straight to ringside, where we join play by play commentator Joe Thomas and Majority Stakeholder, Simon Bedford. The music fades out.

Joe Thomas: Hello and welcome ladies and gentlemen to the Friday 6th January edition of Friday Night Wrestling, LIVE, from Leeds University. I’m Joe Thomas, beside Majority Stakeholder, Simon Bedford.

Simon Bedford: Happy New Year folks.

Joe Thomas: On the back of a successful Friday Night Wrestling last week in Sheffield, where we decided the four semi-finalists in the White Rose Championship Wrestling Heavyweight Championship tournament, we also crowned the first ever Sportsdirect.com TV Champion…and that man…Dixon Casablanca…kicks us off with his first defence of that championship….right now!!!!

Dixon Casablanca makes his way out to his music, the “Sound of Hollywood”. He has the Sportsdirect.com TV Championship strapped around his waist. Dixon rolls into the ring and requests a microphone. He is duly given one. Dixon looks around the crowd as his music fades out.

Dixon Casablanca: So, this is Leeds, huh?

The fans pop for home town mention.

Dixon Casablanca: How the heck have you guys not killed yourselves yet?

The fans quickly change to boo Casablanca.

Dixon Casablanca: Seriously, this place is a cesspool. Nothing like the glitz and glamour of my hometown…Hollywood, California…USA.

    BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Dixon Casablanca: Ohhhh...that’s right…you Brits are a bunch of xenophobes. I’d explain what that word means, but I don’t have the time. Assuming any of you actually own a dictionary, look it up later. In the meantime, send out the little blue monkey, and when I defeat him, and successfully defend my TV Championship, if anyone needs me…I’ll be in my trailer.

Dixon throws the camera back to ringside as Scottish bagpipes begin to play. The Highland warrior makes his way out to the ring, jogging down the aisle.

    Sportsdirect.com Television Championship Match

    vs
Dixon Casablanca © vs The Highland Warrior

The Highland Warrior goes on the attack immediately, causing Dixon to back off into a corner. Dixon escapes the ring and walks around the outside. He runs his hands through his hair as the fans start chanting for him to get back into the ring. Casablanca rolls back into the ring and offers a test of strength to The Highland Warrior. The masked Scotsman accepts the test, but immediately, Casablanca kicks him in the midsection. Dixon controls the early flow of the match, working on The Highland Warrior’s back. Dixon hits a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker and a gutwrench powerbomb as he attempts a failed pin. Warrior takes control in the match as Casablanca’s cockiness leads to a poorly executed clothesline, which Highland Warrior ducks under and hits a neckbreaker. Warrior goes to the top turnbuckle and hits a flying legdrop. The Highland Warrior hits a springboard bulldog and comes close to dethroning the champion. The Highland Warrior eats mat though as he attempts a jumping huricanrana which Dixon reverses into a powerbomb. A close pinfall follows. The end of the match comes when The Highland Warrior is whipped towards the turnbuckle and attempts to leap out over the top of Casablanca who is following in. Dixon telegraphs it and catches The Highland Warrior over his shoulders, hitting a devestating Death Valley Driver that he calls the Final Goodbye. Dixon picks up a victory.

Winner and STILL Sportsdirect.com Television Champion - Dixon Casablanca
    Match Time - 7:32
Dixon walks back up the aisle slowly, turning back at the top of the aisle and raising both hands.

Joe Thomas: A strong first defence of the Television Championship for the film star, Dixon Casablanca.

Simon Bedford: The Sportsdirect.com Television Championship, Joe.

Joe Thomas: Yes Mr. Bedford. Join us folks after these commercial messages from our sponsors.

White Rose Championship Wrestling heads for a break.

    vs
The Jeffreys vs Les Beaumont Impeccables

Simon Bedford: This promises to be a great tag team contest.

Joe Thomas: Indeed, it does. I love tag team wrestling Mr. Bedford. This next match sees Yorkshire’s own Chris and Mark Jeffrey against French brothers, Les Beaumont Impeccables.

Simon Bedford: Two sets of brothers, facing off for the first time in White Rose Championship Wrestling.

Joe Thomas: The Jeffrey’s were impressive in victory last week against America the Beautiful, while Les Beaumont Impeccables were equally impressive, but their outing ended in defeat against the Towers of London.

The Jeffreys come to the ring to huge cheers, being from Leeds. Chris, the more outgoing of the two brothers dives into some fans at ringside who are excited to see him. Perhaps relatives. Mark is a little more reserved. Les Beaumont Impeccables make their way out to nothing. By default, the fans are against them, preferring their hometown heroes. Les Beaumont Impeccables pick up the victory which is marred in controversy. The Jeffrey’s are well in control of the match and Eric Beaumont is down and appears injured in the middle of the ring. Chris Jeffrey goes to a turnbuckle and prepares to leap off, until Claude runs along the apron and pushes Chris off into the ring. Mark Jeffrey tries to enter the ring but the referee stops him. While the referee is distracted, Claude rolls his brother out of the ring and takes his place, lying down on the mat, feigning injury. The referee turns back around as Chris gets to his feet. Torn between making a tag and continuing the assault, he goes for who he believes is Eric Beaumont, but Claude is aware and rolls him up in a small package. Before Mark on the outside knows what is going on, Les Beaumont Impeccables pick up a cheap, but vitally important victory. Boos rain down as the hometown boys try and understand what happened.

Joe Thomas: What a match - but the Beaumont’s stole it.

Simon Bedford: I firmly believe that anyone can beat anyone in our tag team division Joe.

    Winners: Les Beaumont Impeccables
    Match Time - 5:45
We cut backstage post match to see Japanese tag team Shinsuke Aluko and Hitsudo Matsuka. Again, the team appear to be very unhappy, chattering away to each other in their native Japanese. They are walking through catering on their way to the parking lot. Abigail Fox, roving reporter approaches Shinsuke, but she is shunned as they roll their cases straight past her. Hitsudo shouts back at Abigail something that must be an insult.

Joe Thomas: That’s Shinsuke Aluko and Hitsudo Matsuka, they weren’t booked again Mr. Bedford?

Simon Bedford: No, they weren’t Joe. It’s a difficult balancing act, as they’re clearly very skilled, and I wouldn’t have signed them if I didn’t believe they could bring something to White Rose Championship Wrestling But unfortunately the show is jam packed tonight.

Backstage Shinsuke and Hitsudo get into their rental car and speed off into the cold Leeds air.

Joe Thomas: When can we expect to see them in the ring, Mr. Bedford?

Simon Bedford: Well Joe they were due to appear on Wrestling Overload in the week, but we lost the feed. I do sympathise with them. I’m going to make an exciting announcement about the tag team division in the week on Wrestling Overload, which should involve Shinsuke Aluko and Hitsudo Matsuka, assuming they still want to be involved. So very soon.

Joe Thomas: Wow...I can’t wait Boss...erm...Mr. Bedford, sir!

Rexx Caliburs music hits over the public address. He walks to the ring slowly and purposefully as The fans boo him. The bald headed, bearded monster gets to the ring and climbs over the top rope. Rexx asks for a microphone, and is given one quickly.

Rexx Calibur: Last week, Wayne Irvin picked up a cheap victory over me in the middle of this ring.

The fans boo Rexx. Rexx just snarls back at the fans.

Rexx Calibur: Wayne Irvin is a coward. He won with a cowardly move...a cowardly tactic. And do you know what I do to cowards? Rexx Calibur breaks cowards.

The monster turns to face the ringside commentary table and leans on the top rope looking towards Simon Bedford.
Rexx Calibur: But tonight, and for the foreseeable future, I can do nothing about it. I promise retribution...I promise revenge, but it will not come tonight, nor will it come next week. And why? Because I have been threatened with my job if I pursue Wayne Irvin. I will be “surplus to requirements” if I touch Wayne Irvin. And if I want to keep my job, I also have to read this statement that I prepared.

Rexx Calibur reaches into his trunks and takes out a sheet of paper. The camera focuses on Simon Bedford at ringside, who is watching intently with a wry smile on his face. Rexx unfurls the paper.

Rexx Calibur: My behaviour last week was not acceptable. Attacking the match official was not right, and
I apologise, whole heartedly for my actions last week. I would like to apologise to you, the fans, but most importantly, would like to apologise to the match official, Mitch Harper. Mitch, I’m very sorry for what I did.
It wasn’t personal...it was just wrong place, wrong time. I hope you will accept my apology and come back to White Rose Championship Wrestling very soon.

Calibur crumples the paper and throws it down. The microphone soon follows as Rexx awaits his opponent.

Joe Thomas: That seemed a very heartfelt apology from the monster, Rexx Calibur. I’m assuming you’re responsible, Mr. Bedford?

Simon Bedford: One cannot let the lunatics run the asylum. Rexx Calibur’s assault on Mitch Harper cost the business a heck of a lot in insurance payouts. Rexx Calibur paid a two weeks wages fine, which is the maximum I can impose for a first offence. However, that is some way short of the payout, let me tell you. Rexx Calibur has been warned of his future conduct.

Joe Thomas: I see, I like a hard stance.

Simon Bedford: Nobody is untouchable, Joe, and furthermore I won’t have innocent match officials put in that position.

    vs
Rexx Calibur vs Flying Fernando Leone

Fernando Leone, the Catalan Cruiserwight sprints to the ring into a big boot as he slides into the ring. Calibur wastes no time dispatching Fernando Leone with a huge powerbomb that seems to shake the ring. Rexx Calibur picks up the victory as the fans boo him. He stands up and turns his attention to Simon Bedford. Rexx and Simon lock eyes, until Calibur smiles sinisterly and turns back to Fernando Leone. Rexx drags Fernando off the canvas and delivers another powerbomb to him. The match official tries to stop the post match assault, but Rexx pushes him out of the way. Calibur drags up Leone and throws him, shoulder first into the post of a turnbuckle. Leone screams in pain. The referee signals something to the ring announcer, who then says that his decision has been reversed, and winner, due to disqualification is Flying Fernando Leone. Rexx Calibur is furious and stalks the referee, who knows better and exits the ring. Simon Bedford stands up and calls for a microphone.

Simon Bedford: Enough...security! Security! Get out here and escort Mr. Calibur off the premises.

Rexx smiles a sick smile at Simon Bedford.

Simon Bedford: Rexx Calibur, you are hereby suspended for two weeks, and fined a further two weeks wages.

Rexx Calibur is furious and makes for the ropes to exit, but ten members of security are there first. Simon Bedford sits back down as the ten strong team drag Calibur, kicking and screaming backstage.

Winner: Flying Fernando Leone by disquaification
    Match time: 1:14
Friday Night Wrestling goes for commercial messages.

When we return, Abigail Fox is backstage with Wayne Irvin. The reality TV star looks anxious and appears to be pacing back and forth. Abigail starts the questions.

Abigail Fox: Wayne, considering what happened to Apocalypse last week in Sheffield, are you ready to face The Odium tonight?

Wayne Irvin: Nobody has seen Apocalypse since last Friday night. Not his fans, not his friends, not even his family. He mysteriously laid down in the middle of the ring for The Odium and then got up and followed The Odium out of the building. I’m going to be honest Abigail, I’m not so concerned about whether I win or lose, but more over if I leave under my own accord and with my faculties intact.

Abigail Fox: I see...how do you plan to tackle The Odium?

Wayne Irvin: How do you prepare for something like that, Abigail? Really? All I will say is that I defeated Rexx Calibur last week, and that is good enough preparation for pretty much any wrestling match...IF, and that’s a big IF, the Odium decides to actually wrestle. If he decides to raise his arms at me and put me under some hocus pocus spell, then no amount of preparation will do. It makes you actually wonder if it’s worth the trouble sometimes.

Wayne Irvin shakes his head, almost wistfully

Abigail Fox: Well, I have it on good authority that The Odium will be released from his contract if he uses...well...whatever he used last week to defeat Apocalypse again.

Wayne Irvin: Well that’s a start Abigail. I guess we’re going to see a wrestling match after all, and we’ll see if The Odium deserves to be in the semi-finals. That’s all I have to say on the matter right now!

Wayne seems more upbeat than when he started the interview as we cut back to the arena.

    vs
White Rose Heavyweight Championship Semi-Final #1
    Jason Oddyssey vs Sylvain DuBois

Jason Oddyssey makes his way out to the ring first to his upbeat rock music. England’s premier wrestling star is once again a firm favourite with the fans. He shows off to the fans in the ring. Sylvain DuBois makes his way out, pulling a face at the fans in attendance. The Frenchman looks like he doesn’t want to be there. It’s a great technical contest, with Sylvain pushing Oddyssey all the way. After ten minutes, Sylvain goes for a shoulderblock, which Jason moves out of the way of. DuBois manages to stop himself hitting the referee. However, Oddyssey takes advantage of the situation to get a schoolboy roll up and pick up the victory. The fans pop for Jason Oddyssey. DuBois grabs a microphne post match.

Sylvain DuBois: This ees a travesty. Even a blind man could see zat ze referee and I almost came to ze blows in ze ring.

Oddyssey is backing off up the aisle and stops.

Sylvain DuBois: I demand zat you come back to zis ring and face me like a man. I demand a rematch.

Oddyssey considers for a moment and looks to the fans. Jason decides to go back to the ring and the fight resumes as the referee assumes acceptance. Sylvain manages to hit the Guillotine Stunner and goes for the cover, as the referee counts to three. Sylvain leaps up, celebrating as he has advanced to the final of the White Rose Heavyweight Championship tournament. However, the referee cuts short his celebrations as he points out he made a mistake and that Oddyssey had his foot on the bottom rope, negating the pin. Sylvain is furious and argues with the referee. Jason Oddyssey gets up and spins Sylvain around, kicks him in the midsection and then hits the Dreamweaver Axe kick. Jason Oddyssey picks up the victory that sees him through to the final.

    Winner: Jason Oddyssey
    Match Time - 13:12
Friday Night Wrestling goes off air for sponsored messages.

Abigail Fox is backstage with beaten semi-finalist, Sylvain DuBois. Sylvain looks furious.

    Abigail Fox: Sylvain...so near but

Sylvain DuBois: Shut your mouth, you leetle English slutdog. Zis is a total injustice. I am Sylvain DuBois, ze star of zis pathetic little company. If I was not ‘ere, ‘ow else would zey but ze bums on ze seats? I cannot believe zat Monsieur Simon Bedford just sit at ringside and watch as I am screwed...not just ze once, but twice! I demand justice...I demand a rematch.

Jason Oddyssey walks into shot, smirking at Sylvain.

Sylvain DuBois: What do you want know...have you come to do ze gloat some more?

    Jason just shakes his head.

Jason Oddyssey: Listen to yourself DuBois. You had not one, but two chances to get the job done tonight, and you couldn’t do it.You lost once, and you cried like a bitch. So out of the kindness of my heart, I gave you another chance.

    Sylvain DuBois: But...

Jason Oddyssey: No buts, Sylvain. I gave you a further chance. You had two chances to get the job done tonight. I could give you a third, fourth, tenth, hundredth chance and you still wouldn’t be able to do it. But of course, it’s easy for you to stand here bitching and moaning like a typical Frog!

The fans “oooooh” at the casually racist insult. There are some clear laughs.

Sylvain DuBois: What did you call me?

Jason Oddyssey takes a step back and smiles.

Jason Oddyssey: I called you a typical Frog. You stand here expecting things to be given to you, demanding justice when you deserve nothing. Stop being a nancy-boy, whiny little, white flag waving French bitch.

The fans cheer as Jason walks off screen. Sylvain is left to chew the insult over and then starts hurling French obscenties to the back of Jason Oddyssey.

Sylvain DuBois: Zis is not over...I promise at least zis.

Friday Night Wrestling leaves Sylvain’s anger behind as we fade out for sponsored messages.

    vs
“The Icon” Nick Green vs “The Real Deal” Marc McCarthy

Back from commercial, and “The Icon” Nick Green’s music hits. Nick makes his way to the ring and claps hands with each and every fan around ringside. He gets a lukewarm reception. Marc McCarthy, the “Real Deal” makes his way out to the ring next to a louder response. The fans warmed to him after last weeks match against Jason Oddyssey. Nick and Marc shake hands before their match and put on a technical wrestling masterpiece. At the mid point of the match, Nick Green locks in a painful looking Boston Crab on Marc, but McCarthy gets over to the ropes to break the hold. McCarthy ends up the victor, winning after blocking an attempted superkick and then hitting the Real Deal arm trap neckbreaker.

Winner: “The Real Deal” Marc McCarthy
    Match Time - 12:33
Friday Night Wrestling breaks for the final time.

Simon Bedford: Welcome back, we’ve taken our last commercial break...I promise.

Joe Thomas: And we will find out who will face Jason Oddyssey in the final of the White Rose Championship Wrestling Heavyweight Championship tournament, live on next weeks Friday Night Wrestling.

    vs
White Rose Heavyweight Championship Semi-Final #2

    Wayne Irvin vs The Odium

Wayne Irvin comes out and awaits the arrival of The Odium with a nervous look on his face. The room’s lights dim and The Odium makes his entrance, to no music. He takes his robe off at the ring, revealing black trunks. Behind his shaggy hair and beard, his eyes bore a hole through Wayne Irvin. The referee rings the bell, and The Odium suddenly has pace about him. Wayne and The Odium circle each other and the Odium takes Wayne Irvin down with a reverse waist lock, and then holds him in place with a chin lock. Irivn and The odium are about the same size. It’s clear that The Odium favours a heavy hitting, brawling strategy. They fight a back and forth match until Irvin and the referee collide. The referee goes down. Irvin hits a DDT on The Odium. The Odium stays down for a second but then rolls up onto his knees. Wayne Irvin throws a left arm, but The Odium ducks it and locks in a sleeper hold.

Joe Thomas: What is this, Mr. Bedford?

The camera focuses on the top of the aisle where a figure emerges from behind the curtain. The figure is huge.

    Simon Bedford: It’s Apocalypse.

Joe Thomas: No one has seen him all week.

The Odium releases Wayne Irvin and turns as every single fan stands on their feet. The 7’2” giant is walking with purpose. Apocalypse reaches the ring, climbs the ringsteps and then steps over the top rope.

Simon Bedford: Apocalypse is back, and he’s got bad intentions in mind for the Odium!

Joe Thomas: He’s certainly got a score to settle Mr. Bedford.

Apocalypse walks right up to the Odium, and puts his hand around his throat. The fans are cheering while the referee is still down. Apocalypse lifts the Odium, who still looks cool and funfazed. The Odium is up in the air, held up by the throat, and he calmly points at Wayne Irvin. Apocalypse lowers The Odium.

    Joe Thomas: What the.....

Apocalypse turns around and wraps his hand around Wayne Irvin’s throat and delivers a chokeslam.

Simon Bedford: NO!!! Apocalypse, what the hell?

Joe Thomas: What is going on? Mr. Bedford, you’ve got to stop this.

The Odium points to the announce table at ringside and Apocalypse climbs out of the ring as the fans are confused, looking around. Apocalypse stands in front of the announce table.

Simon Bedford: I would stop the match Joe, but I fear if I do, Apocalypse is going to hurt us.

Joe Thomas: I agree...there must be something you can do though.

    The referee begins to stir.

Simon Bedford: Not right now Joe. Trust me.

The referee counts to three slowly. The Odium wins the match, and seemingly advances to the final to face Jason Oddyssey next week. The Odium has his arm raised as some of the fans begin throwing rubbish into the ring. Apocalypse continues to stare darkly at Simon Bedford and Joe Thomas.

Joe Thomas: Erm...this is one of the wierest things I have ever witnessed Mr. Bedford...

Simon Bedford: Me too Joe. Me too.

White Rose Championship Wrestling ends focusing on Apocalypse’s emotionless stare.

    Winner: The Odium

White Rose Championship Wrestling Press Release

    Rexx Calibur Suspended

Following his actions on Friday night on the 6th January edition of Friday Night Wrestling, Rexx Calibur has been suspended for two weeks for breaching post match behaviour policy for the second week running.

Calibur viciously attacked Flying Fernando Leone, leaving the Spaniard with a rotator cuff injury. This is the week after Calibur attacked match official Mitch Harper and left him with severe whiplash.

According to Doctors, Fernando Leone is not expected to return for approximately six months. Simon Bedford is said to be looking for new talent to step into the void left by Leone's injury and Rexx Calibur's suspension.

    Re: White Rose Championship Wrestling

Dirtsheet Rumours Roundup Monday 9th January

    • Is Flying Fernando Leone really injured, or as we are led to believe, taking an enforced absence due to an addition to prescription painkillers? Rexx Caliburs suspension is purely storyline related, but the belief is that there needed to be a legitimate reason for Leone to be written off television.
    • XWF in trouble? Rumours are abound that the XWF are seeking a buyer immediately, and talk around here is that Simon Bedford and XWF owner Ian Gartside have had several late night meetings over the last week to thrash out a deal. It is thought that any such agreement would result in several talents heading over to White Rose Championship Wrestling and that XWF would become a training camp for new wrestlers. XWF Champion Johnny Blade, XWF Hardcore Champion Travis Taylor and the tag team, Fame and Fortune would be welcome additions as they are already nationally recognisable names.
    • Matches taped for Tuesday Nights Wrestling overload include Nick Green vs "The Doorman" Frank Smith, Francois LeClerc and Les Beaumont Impeccables vs John McCowan and the Towers of London and The Highland Warrior vs Mark Duke
    • It is rumoured that Simon Bedford will announce a tag team title tournament on this Tuesday's Wrestling Overload.

    Re: White Rose Championship Wrestling

White Rose Championship Wrestling presents...by download only

Joe Thomas welcomes us to the second edition of Wrestling Overload, the weekly, free download magazine format show from White Rose Championship Wrestling

    vs

The Highland Warrior vs Mark Duke

From a match taped last week, The Highland Warrior wrestled against the young up and comer, Mark Duke. Duke, the young debutant again impressed against the experienced Scottish high flyer, but the Highland Warrior was able to pick up the win with a leaping tornado DDT. After the match, William Prince and his valet Lizzy came to the ring to confront Mark Duke. William Prince extended his hand to Mark Duke, which Duke accepted. The commentary team speculated that Mark Duke had formed an alliance with William Prince and Lizzy.
Rexx Calibur suspended as Fernando Leone injured

As everyone saw on the second edition of Friday Night Wrestling, Rexx Calibur was suspended for a post match attack on his opponent, Spanish youngster, Flying Fernando Leone. Leone is not expected to be back in action for at least six months. Rexx Calibur has been given a two week suspension, and Majority Stakeholder, Simon Bedford has been heard to say that unless Rexx Calibur checks into anger management provided by White Rose Championship Wrestling, he can kiss his job goodbye.
    Jason Oddyssey upsets French fans

Jason Oddyssey was forced into an embarrassing apology after his backstage comments during Sylvain DuBois’ post-match interview were deemed by many to cross the boundary between insult and racism. Jason Oddyssey said that in no way, shape or form do the comments he made reflect his views of the French race, and that the comments were simply a reaction to comments made by Sylvain DuBois. White Rose Championship Wrestling takes any racism, alleged or otherwise, very seriously and will launch an investigation into Jason Oddyssey’s comments at the earliest opportunity.

    vs

Francois LeClerc and Les Beaumont Impeccables vs John McCowan and the Towers of London

Six man tag team action saw Francois LeClerc team with the Beaumonts for an all French team against young Scottish wrestler, John McCowan and the Towers of London. The Towers of London struggled to keep with the pace of the Beaumont’s, but managed to slow them down when Claude went to the top turnbuckle and McCowan pushed him off, into the ring. The Towers controlled the match from there, but when the French monster LeClerc got into the ring, the tables turned. Francois picked up the victory with Le Grand Torture on John McCowan.
A word with Hitsudo Matsuka and Shinsuke Aluko

Camera’s today caught up with the Japanese duo of Matsuka and Aluko. The team appeared in bad spirits. With this segment due to go out tonight, White Rose Championship Wrestling have done their best to subtitle the key points of their interview.

Matsuka: We are tired of being overlooked. We are one of the greatest teams on the porridge. We’ve wrestled all over, from Japan to banana. We’ve held championship straps wherever we have been.

Aluko: Indeed, we will defeat all tables that are laid before us. We demand that Simon Bedford takes notice of us and ensure that we are blancmange this week on Friday Night towpath.

Matsuka: Loafer Aluko and Matsuka girdle.

    Aluko: Ironing board.
    Apocalypse Backs up the Odium

Apocalypse made his return to the spotlight after a week AWOL on Friday Night Wrestling, interfering on behalf of The Odium in his match against Wayne Irvin. Simon Bedford was said to be furious but could not d anything for fear of being attacked. Rumour has it that a Wayne Irvin vs Jason Oddyssey final in the White Rose Championship Wrestling Heavyweight Title tournament would have made the business a lot of money. As it stands, due to Apocalypse’s interference, Jason Oddyssey will meet the Odium. Wayne Irvin has said he will be looking for a measure of revenge against the 7’2” brainwashed Geordie giant.
Eight Team Tag Team Title Tournament announced

In advance of this Friday Night Wrestling, on the 13th January, Majority Stakeholder Simon Bedford has announced that White Rose Championship Wrestling will begin the search for the first tag team champions with an eight team tournament, following the success of the White Rose Heavyweight Championship tournament. The tournament is currently open for entry with confirmed participants being The Jeffreys, The Towers of London and America the Beautiful so far. There is space for five more teams
    vs

Nick Green vs "The Doorman" Frank Smith

In the final match of the evening, “The Icon” Nick Green wrestled the Doorman, Frank Smith. Smith was no match for Green, with Nick Green picking up the win with a Superkick to close the show.

    Re: White Rose Championship Wrestling

I am really enjoying your BTB, 1 because of the lay out, 2 because you came up wiht a whole new randcal BTB making up your own characters, belts & federation. I will obviously keep taps on your BTB & not just because you read mine, but because I enjoy the work you put into it & I can feel the characters as if their Cena, Triple H or HBK. I wish you well with your continued project & look foward to more installments. Although because I check out quite a lot on here I may not alway post a review but that doesn't mean I haven't read it. I will from time to time post comments but not every show you do, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about because your probably checking out many BTB yourselves & know if you read them & then post on all of them every time, you have no time on your own BTB project.
