Amazing quality of snooker throughout this final. Always a treat to see two players playing so well, but Judd Trump has just been unbelievable these last few days. Been a tremendous tournament too throughout the last 17 days.

The tons speak for themselves, high quality game.

Judd's first frame in the afternoon when he got that long red and and then never let Higgins come back to the table was god like. Glad to see Higgins get a couple frames in just because it wouldn't be May bank holiday without snooker on the evening, but this should be wrapped up fairly early this evening.

Dunno how many of you lot follow rugby. But randomly saw the European Cup final was on network TV over here. I don't follow all that close anymore, but saw the Saracens are playing in it again. Followed them for a few years. Hard fought match so far.

More of a fan of international rugby personally. More invested in it, although with two PL clubs near me I should try to care a bit more.

Generally the same. the World Cup being this year might have driven my interest up a bit of late. I should be following closer - the English club I randomly picked 5-6 years ago has been damned good, and they are about to win the European Cup again.

If I started following properly it'd be Bath for me. Supported them as a kid as they were who Jeremy Guscott played for. Handy as they're one of the two teams near me.

Giro D'Italia started today too. Simon Yates looks on some decent form so we could get another British winner though Primoz Roglic is the main man on form at the moment so he'll have his hands full there.

I thought it was great when Miguel Angel Lopez slapped the fan (if you could really call it that) who knocked him off his bike.

Was good for Lopez however he broke the rules too. Could have had a much more severe punishment too.

Sad to see Chris Froome get hurt before the Tour. I think it's wide open.

Really gutted for Froomey, he was all focused on this tour this year and this is a season ending injury without doubt. As for Le Tour, it opens it up for G to retain, and certainly gives the likes of Quintana, Dumoulin, Nibali, Yates (If any of the three are going) and if fit, it may throw Bernal up to the second option for Ineos.

    Union chat:

First New Zealand lose and surrender World Ranking #1 status. Wales gain it and promptly lose their 14 match winning streak.

World Cup is setting up nicely!

Was looking at the pools earlier to remind myself, we could easily be meeting again in October for the quarters, 3 England/Wales matches in one year, crazy.

Would be 4 if you count the 6 Nations haha. Play another warm up next weekend in the Principality. We then play Ireland twice too.

Looking at the groups you'd probably fancy both teams to win their groups. If Wales aren't too slow starting we'll beat the Aussies to top spot methinks.

All these pre-world cup warm-ups seem to be telling us is that the top teams are good at home. Fat lot of good that's gonna be next month unless you're Japanese!

Last night a woman born in the 2000s won a Tennis Grand Slam.

By contrast there have been no men born during the 90s to have won a Grand Slam. That's bonkers.

When we've had 3 of the best ever male players playing at the same time, it's not difficult to see why it's happened that way. Throw Murray into the mix too and that's them all sewn up hah

There's also the argument that the next generation is taking too long to arrive and dethrone these guys. The only chink in the armour is Murray and that's down to injury more than anything
